KISSIMMEE, Fla. Alphonse Areola Jersey . -- Halfway through his six spring training appearances, R.A. Dickey feels like an old pitcher with a new beginning. "Its like getting to start over and do it the right way. You feel like youre getting a chance to reboot," Dickey said Sunday after pitching five shutout innings for the Toronto Blue Jays in a 4-3 exhibition loss to the Houston Astros. "It makes you somewhat regret not being able to invest the time that was really needed last year." Dickeys first spring with the Blue Jays was interrupted by the World Baseball Classic. A year after winning the NL Cy Young Award with the New York Mets in 2012, he went 4-7 through May with a 5.18 ERA. "You dont know that in the moment, and youre getting to do a really fantastic honour," he recalled, "but having spent a lot of time with my guys on the team and getting to prepare my body, (this spring) just feels normal." Dickey threw 82 pitches in five innings in his third spring start, giving up four hits and a walk while striking out four. He plans to get up to 95-100 pitches in his next two starts, then perhaps dial it back for his final spring outing before pitching in the season-opening series at Tampa Bay. "Being older, I know what I need to do to prepare, and this is one of the things that helps me feel confident when I take the mound, knowing that Ive gone deep in games in the spring," he said. "That way when it happens during the season Im able to do it right from the get-go and not have to build into it. It works for me. Everybodys different." Marwin Gonzalez and Carlos Perez drove in runs for the Astros in the eighth inning off losing pitcher Jeremy Jeffress. Jason Castro hit a two-run homer for the Astros in the sixth. The Blue Jays took a 3-2 lead in the eighth on a play in which the Astros lost a replay challenge for the second straight day. Steve Tolleson beat a close play at the plate, scoring on a double by Erik Kratz. "If its that close, then its definitely worth challenging because theres no telling what angle they may end up getting that can actually overturn it," Houston manager Bo Porter said. STARTING TIME BLUE JAYS: Asked about the diminished expectations for the Blue Jays this season, Dickey deadpanned: "I think were terrible, and I dont want anybody to take us seriously. I think because of last year, were probably going to get walked all over every game." ASTROS: Rudy Owens, a 26-year-old left-hander who has yet to pitch in the major leagues, matched zeroes with Dickey for three innings, giving up one hit. "I never faced that calibre of hitters, but its something Ive dealt with and Ive been doing for my entire career," he said. "Its time for me to step up and I did." TRAINERS ROOM Toronto manager John Gibbons on the post-Tommy John surgery outlook of pitcher Drew Huthison: "You dont even think of Tommy John; modern medicine is so good. Its almost like when you draft these guys and sign em, do Tommy John right away because sometimes they end up better than they were to begin with." NICE IMPRESSION Kratz drove in two runs with a single and a double while catching Dickeys knuckleball for five innings. "Calling knuckleballs is an anxious proposition so hes got to navigate that some. He did a good job," Dickey said. Edinson Cavani Jersey . Tony Parker had 33 points and nine assists and San Antonio never trailed in a resounding 116-92 victory over Portland, bullying the younger Trail Blazers in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals. Adrien Rabiot Jersey . -- The Sacramento Kings have signed first-round pick Nik Stauskas to his rookie contract. http://www.psgsoccershop.com/c-28-hervin-ongenda-paris-saint-germain-fc-jersey.aspx . Riethers apparent stamp on Manchester United midfielder Adnan Januzaj during Saturdays Premier League match at Craven Cottage was missed by the match officials. A three-man panel of former referees reviewed the incident and all agreed that it was a sending-off offence.Lake Buena Vista, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - If Thursday was any preview of who will win the Heisman Trophy, Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota should feel pretty good about his chances. Hopefully he has a large trophy case, too. Mariota, a Heisman finalist along with Alabama wide receiver Amari Cooper and Wisconsin running back Melvin Gordon, was the recipient of the Davey OBrien Award as well as the Walter Camp Award and Maxwell Award. The OBrien Award winner, recognized as the nations top quarterback, has gone on to win the Heisman Trophy in four straight seasons, including seven of the last eight. Mariota, a redshirt junior, joins UCLAs Troy Aikman as the only Pac-12 quarterbacks to win the award. The Maxwell Award is presented by the Maxwell Football Club for the College Player of the Year, while the Camp Award is given to the Player of the Year decided by a panel of NCAA head coaches. Mariota is the most prolific quarterback in Oregon history and has tallied 35 wins in his three seasons as the starter, including a spot in the national semifinal against Florida State in the inaugural College Football Playoffs on Jan. 1. He has passed for 3,773 yards and 38 touchdowns this season with 669 yards rushing and another 14 scores. Only six quarterbacks have won the Heisman Trophy along with those three awards, and the last three to win the Maxwell have not been honored for College Footballs ultimate prize. Arizonas Scooby Wright III had a good amount of success as well, receiving the Chuck Bednarik Award on Thursday along with the Nagurski Award and Lombardi Award earlier in the week. The Bednarik Award, also presented by the Maxwell Club, is given to the Defensive Player of the Year, while the Nagurski also honors defensive excellence and the Lombardi is given to the nations top linebacker or lineman. Wright recorded 153 tackles -- 28.0 tackles for a loss -- and addeed 14 sacks and six forced fumbles in 13 games for the Wildcats this season. Paris Saint-Germain Jerseys. The sophomore was the only FBS player to rank in the top-25 in each of those categories. Cooper was honored as the nations top wide receiver, winning the Fred Biletnikoff Award. Cooper, a junior, had an SEC-record 115 catches for a national-best 1,656 yards and 14 touchdowns in 13 games this season. He had more than 200 yards in three games this season. Cooper is the first Alabama player and second SEC receiver to win the award, joining LSUs Josh Reed in 2001. Gordon was recognized as the Doak Walker Award winner, given to the nations top running back. Gordon finished the regular season with an FBS-leading 2,336 rushing yards, the fourth-best total all-time, and added 26 touchdowns on 309 carries. He set an FBS record with 408 rushing yards against Nebraska last month, but the mark was broken a week later by Oklahoma freshman Samaje Perine. Louisvilles Gerod Holliman was named the winner of the Jim Thorpe Award, given to the nations top defensive back. Holliman recorded an FBS-best and NCAA single-season record of 14 interceptions this season to go along with 37 tackles. He helped Louisville rank sixth in total defense, allowing only 293 yards per game. Holliman, who returned one of his interceptions for a touchdown, is the first Louisville player to win the award. Iowas Brandon Scherff won the Outland Trophy as the nations top interior lineman. Scherff is the fourth Hawkeye to win the award and fourth offensive lineman in the last five years. Maryland kicker Brad Craddock took home the Lou Groza Award, while Utah punter was honored as the Ray Guy Award recipient. Craddock, the first Terrapin to win the award and just third kicker in Big 10 history, went 18-of-19 on his field goal tries. Hackett, the first Pac-12 punter to win the award, averaged 47.0 yards on 77 punts this season.
