adidas Originals is adding to their Yung series by bringing back a lesser-known model from their archive in original form with the Adidas Continental 80 Womens. Originally released in the late 1980s, the Continental 80 shoe is a classic casual model, made from a soft premium leather with perforation vents on the toebox and sides, placed atop a double cupsole. Decoration comes in the form of a two-tone stripe running along the shoe’s sides beneath an old school trefoil-branded window below the lace panel. This is then finished with a terry cloth lining, completing the shoe’s pure retro feel.
Continuing the “Yung” series by adidas is the re-issue of the Adidas Continental 80 Mens – a classic trainer from the brand’s archives of the late 1980s. This first-ever re-release ushers back the model in its exact form, complete with the two-toned stripe running down the shoe’s upper as well as the terry-cloth interior lining. While you can expect this Continental 80 return true to the original, the brand is also billing these the “Yung World” while making no mention of the other “Rascal” moniker that’s been sticking to the model since news first broke out months ago.
One of the hottest adidas Originals silhouettes of the summer, the Adidas Continental 80 Black — a classic casual silhouette that bears many a similarity to Kanye West‘s adidas Yeezy Powerphase — has surfaced in a new “Aero Blue” scheme. Following in the colorful footsteps of the “Semi Frozen Yellow” and “Clear Pink” colorways that were unveiled last week, the “Aero Blue” features a very faint light blue tonal upper, midsole, and outsole. A two-tone scarlet and navy stripe on the lateral side adds a pop of preppy contrast, while classic adidas branding arrives on the heel, tongue, and throat.
In a sneaker industry largely dominated by chunky, maximalist silhouettes, the sleek Adidas Continental 80 White flips the script entirely and offers a more confined design to consumers who like to keep their footwear a bit simpler. Still calling upon today’s retro-inspired aesthetic, the Continental 80 is an updated version of the classic Continental and bears a striking resemblant to Mr. West’s adidas Yeezy Powerphase line.
