Adidas and long-term partner, soccer star David Beckham, have revealed their newest creation: The UltraBoost 2019.
The special sneaker Nike Air Max 95 Womens is Adidas Ultra Boost Womens dedicated to Beckham's 20th anniversary with Manchester United for the Triple Crown, coming at the same time as Adidas's 70th-anniversary celebration. The White Primeknit shoe features a DB99 print along with the midsole and label, representing the 1999 Triple Crown success.
Beckham previously released an Instagram post accidentally sharing an image of the sneaker before it was meant to be shown. He acknowledged it by posting another image of the trainers and writing, "So sorry. Apparently wasn't meant to post these yet. My bad." He's since deleted both posts but was seen modeling the sneakers in China.
adidas has just teased the release of its upcoming running shoe with long-time partner David Beckham. This pair of UltraBOOST 2019 celebrates the Englishman’s lustrous career as a footballer, mainly by paying homage to his time at Manchester United.
The collaboration commemorates the Red Devils’ most successful season (1998Nike Internationalist Femme – 1999) in which they won the treble trophies — Premiere League, FA Cup, and the UEFA Champions League. The running shoe features a white Primeknit upper, a white lace cage with reflective “Three Stripes” branding, and “DB99” printed in black on the BOOST midsole. The trainer is finished off with a fluorescent-red 3D heel frame, Continental rubber outsole, and a Torsion bar.

Ever since the dawn of running shoes, the sliver of something between the foot and the Adidas Ultra Boost Womens earth has been a big focus for athletes trying to get an edge on the competition. The idea of returning energy using a springy midsole has been at the core of product development since the mid 80s. For years the work focused around foam rubber compounds like EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) and PU (polyurethane). These materials offered cushioning and support, could be moulded and shaped, but they just weren’t quite right. Despite experiments with chemical compounds and advances in pressure moulding – which gave us Phylon from EVA – the foams were still subject to the effects of temperature and high compression set – the eventual loss of springiness – and so the full effects of energy return stayed out of reach.
A few years ago, in order to get a leg up on the competition, Nike Air Vapormax Heren adidas sought the assistance of one of the world’s largest Adidas ZX 750 Damen chemical companies, BASF. With their combined expertise, the pair were able to create a new form of TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) that had a unique block-copolymer structure providing just the right amount of bounce. The difficulty hadn’t simply been in finding springier substances – rubber that springs back too quickly has a jarring effect – it’s all about fine-tuning the reaction. This is where the strange bubbly BOOST profile comes into play. Every BOOST sole is made by squishing together lots of small capsules, allowing each little pellet to retain its own shape and giving the finished sole a precise reaction – something that’s much harder to achieve with a big, single-density slab.
