SEATTLE -- Chris Petersen is at the front of the pack thats wondering whether Washington is really the No. 8 team in the country.Talk to me (after) Game 6, and then maybe well have another conversation, Petersen said this week. I didnt even know that until you told me. Thats how important it is to me. Our fans are really important so however we can play good football to inspire them is awesome. But its way too early to be talking about that (rankings) stuff. While Petersen would rather the rankings -- and the expectations that come with them -- would disappear, Washington is again a Top 10 program headed into Saturdays matchup with Idaho. The No. 8 ranking for the Huskies (1-0) is their highest since 2001 when they also reached No. 8 in the polls before losing at Oregon State. And this week marks the first of what is expected to be two glorified scrimmages for the Huskies prior to the start of Pac-12 play. After hosting Idaho, the Huskies play Portland State before opening the conference season at Arizona. That means the ranking isnt likely to change over the next couple of weeks and the hype surrounding the Huskies is only going to grow.Idaho (1-0) is beginning a two-week stretch of playing schools from its neighboring state. The Vandals will make the eight-mile trip to Pullman next week to face Washington State. They have all the ingredients you need to have a good football team, Idaho coach Paul Petrino said. Theyve got fast receivers, good quarterback, good running back, they do a good job up front on the offensive line ... and then defensively theyre good at all three levels. Here are other things to watch as the Vandals and Huskies meet for the first time since 2009:GASKIN GOING: If there was anything disappointing about the Huskies opener, it was the problems Washington had getting the run going. It became a moot point because of how well the rest of the offense played, but the Huskies managed just 91 yards rushing. Myles Gaskin, coming off a 1,302-yard season last year, was limited to 57 yards on 15 carries. Most frustrating for Washington was the inability to get the run going in the third quarter when the Huskies had a 34-3 lead. The 91 yards rushing were the fewest in the previous 10 games and just the fourth time under Petersen that Washington was held under 100 yards. If people are going to load up and bring those safeties downhill and try and stop the run, then hopefully we can throw the ball a little bit over their heads, Petersen said. Its a cat-and-mouse game. But I think we can run the ball better.PICK UP THE PASSING: Idahos Matt Linehan was the most accurate passer in the Sun Belt Conference last season, completing 63 percent of his attempts. You wouldnt know that from the Vandals opener. Linehan was just 8 of 22 passing for 128 yards and an interception against Montana State, well off his average of more than 270 yards per game last season.EXCITING PUNTING: Fans will be watching one of the best punters in the country when Idahos Austin Rehkow is on the field. And given how good Washingtons defense is, Rehkow should have more than a few opportunities to show off his leg. Rehkow is on preseason watch lists for the Ray Guy and Lou Groza awards. He made 23 of 27 field goal attempts last season and averaged 45.7 yards per punt. Rehkow made both of his field goal attempts in the opener against Montana State. He needs to have a great day. Ideally we would like them to have no returns, Petrino said.Last week, Washingtons John Ross returned a kickoff for a touchdown and Dante Pettis returned a punt for a score.VANDAL REUNION: Petersen knows the Idaho program quite well. He was unbeaten in six games against Idaho while coaching at Boise State. But the series ended on a sour note after Boise State moved to the Mountain West. The two schools have not played since 2010.You always enjoy your rivalry games, Petersen said. And certainly when it was at Boise that was a big one. Alexander Mogilny Jersey . The defending champion beat Gael Monfils of France 7-6 (6), 6-3, while second-seeded Andy Murray of Britain dispatched Edouard Roger-Vasselin, also of France, 6-3, 6-3. Hamelin, who triumphed in the 500 on Saturday, edged out Victor An of Russia by 0.021 seconds to maintain his lead in the World Cup standings. Russias Vladimir Grigorev was third. In the relay, Canada took control six laps from the finish line to beat Russia and the Netherlands. Alexander Edler Jersey . "It doesnt get any better than that," Giambi said. "Im speechless." The Indians are roaring toward October. Giambi belted a two-run, pinch-hit homer with two outs in the ninth inning to give Cleveland a shocking 5-4 win over the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday night, keeping the Indians up with the lead pack in the AL wild-card race. "Im in a really good position for tomorrow," Scott said. The Portland Trail Blazers and Memphis Grizzlies have emerged as the primary competitors for free-agent forward Chandler Parsons, sources told ESPN.The Blazers offered Parsons a maximum contract worth $94.8 million over four years during a meeting in Los Angeles in the opening hours of free agency, sources said. The Grizzlies are also expected to make a max offer in a meeting with Parsons scheduled for Friday, sources told ESPNs Marc Stein. There is no chance of Parsons re-signing with the Dallas Mavericks, a source said. The divorce comes after the Mavs made it clear that they had no intention of offering a max contract to Parsons, whose two seasons in Dallas both ended prematurely because of surgeries on his right knee. The Blazers, who are aggressively attempting to make a major addition via free agency for the first time since Brian Grant left Sacramento for Portland almost two decades ago, did not hesitate to meet Parsons contractual demands.Portland owner Paul Allen, general manager Neil Olshey, coach Terry Stotts and star point guard Damian Lillard attended the meeting. A source described Parsons as really impressed with Portlands presentation, which emphasized how he would fit with the core of a young team that advanced to the second round of the Western Conference playoffs last season.Parsons has an advocate in Memphis in recently hired assistant coach J.B. Bickerstaff, who formed a close relationship with Parsons during their time together with the Houston Rockets. Sources say point guard?Mike Conley?also wants Parsons in Memphis if Conley re-signs with the Grizzlies. The Grizzlies are the heavy favorites to keep Conley if their offer for a max contract includes the fifth year that only they can give him.Mavs owner Mark Cuban attempted to talk Parsons, his partner in last summers ultimately unsuccessful attempt to recruit center DeAndre Jordan to Dallas, into opting into the final season of the three-year, $46 million deal Parsons signed after spending his first three seasons with the Rockets. Sources say Parsons never seriously considered picking up the option, as he was confident that hed receive a significant raise and long-term deal this summer because versatile, playmaking forwards are in high demand and short supply. The MMavs responded by putting Parsons on the backburner to begin free agency, making Conley?and Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside their top targets.dddddddddddd The Mavs met with Whiteside in New York in the opening hours of free agency and have a Friday afternoon meeting in Dallas scheduled with Conley, sources said. The Mavs also had a meeting scheduled with Charlotte Hornets small forward Nicolas Batum?on Friday, but he struck a deal hours into free agency to stay in Charlotte, according to a league source.?Cuban had consistently described Parsons as a foundation piece, but sources say Dallas decision-makers reached a consensus opinion that they werent willing to take the risk of offering him a max deal.Parsons averaged 14.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game during his two-year tenure in Dallas but was only able to play in one playoff game because of his knee injuries.Parsons, 27, had hybrid microfracture surgery on the knee in spring of 2015, and the rehab from that operation lasted well into the 2015-16 season. The arthroscopic operation Parsons underwent this spring to address a torn meniscus in the knee wasnt nearly as serious as the previous surgery.Sources say multiple renowned orthopedic specialists have given Parsons clearance to resume full basketball activities and expressed optimism that his knee would not prevent him from having a long, productive NBA career.Parsons averaged 13.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 61 games last season, statistics skewed by a slow start as he dealt with strict minutes restrictions. He had the best statistical stretch of his five-year career in the two months before his season ended, averaging 18.9 points, 5.9 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game while shooting 51.9 percent from the floor and 47.7 percent from 3-point range and proving he could thrive at power forward in addition to small forward. The 6-foot-9 Parsons rare blend of perimeter shooting accuracy and ability as a creator resulted in a list of suitors that also includes the Orlando Magic and Los Angeles Lakers.ESPNs Marc Stein and The Undefeateds Marc J. Spears contributed to this report. Stitched Jerseys Cheap Jerseys Cheap Jerseys Store Wholesale Authentic Jerseys China NFL Hoodies Jerseys From China Wholesale NFL Womens Jerseys ' ' '
