has been one of the NFL’s more disappointing players this season http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-jim-mcmahon-jersey , as he took a step backward in Year 3 and the Bears went from NFC North champs to out of playoff contention. Trubisky acknowledges that it’s on him to get better.“Any time you feel like you’re not playing up to your potential, I think that drives you,” Trubisky said, via the Chicago Sun-Times. “I’ve got a lot of personal drive and fire within me [and] I know I haven’t played to my potential yet. That’s frustrating, but it’s also something that motivates me a lot.”Trubisky said he thinks he’ll be a more consistent quarterback going forward.“You see really good games, and then you see some really bad games,” Trubisky said of his season. “The consistency just hasn’t been there. I think I could be a lot more of a consistent quarterback in the future.”The Bears have a decision to make this offseason on Trubisky’s fifth year option. If they’re going to pick it up, that’s an indication that they still believe in his ability to improve. If they don’t, they’re telling him they’re ready to move on. We’ll dive deep into this week’s edition of our weekly mailbag to answer your questions.CDTShareTweetShareShareBears mailbag: Draft talk, Jordan Howard’s replacement, potential AAF targets and morePhoto by Jonathan Daniel/Getty ImagesPhoto by Jason Miller/Getty ImagesFree agency is winding down and the upcoming draft is in full swing. Even so, the Chicago Bears found a way to make headlines a few times over the last week. The first wave started with the trade of running back Jordan Howard and finished with re-signing rotational outside linebacker Aaron Lynch. With both transactions, it’s likely that the Bears are all but done making moves in free agency. At least in terms of impact signings that is. There’s just 22 days before the start of this year’s draft and all the focus has shifted to the end of April where the Bears aren’t slated to make their first pick until 87th overall in the third round. With all of this in mind, there’s still plenty to talk about including Howard’s replacement, draft targets and overall roster construction. So, let’s dive right into this week’s mailbag. When looking at overall roster construction, the Bears look to be in pretty good shape heading into the draft. Especially after the re-signing of Lynch.Like you’ve pointed out though Tarik Cohen Jersey , there’s still some needs on the roster and those will come at positions where they can address them through the draft or in the priority undrafted free agent portion of the off-season.As far as running back goes, I wouldn’t undersell the fit aspect when it comes to Mike Davis. No, he was nowhere near my top “want” at the running back position in free agency, but he runs very well between the tackles and that’s something head coach Matt Nagy highlighted when he spoke at the combine. The team also has Tarik Cohen and to a certain extent, Cordarelle Patterson. Even so, I expect running back to be a top priority in a few weeks and wouldn’t be shocked if general manager Ryan Pace gets creative when addressing it. (More on that in a few)As far as kicker goes, I don’t expect a surprise move like Stephen Gostkowski, etc. It’s possible they still could bring in a veteran like Matt Bryant or Kai Forbath. Though, I wonder why they haven’t made a move like that if they were going to. Right now they have Chris Blewitt (who special teams coach Chris Tabor personally identified a few months back) and Redford Jones. Neither has kicked in an NFL regular season game, but clearly they are searching for that “diamond in the rough” because paying veterans hasn’t worked out for them yet. All in all, I expect both positions to be addressed in the draft. Running back will obviously come first due to positional value, but don’t be at all surprised if they spend a seventh-round pick on someone like Matt Gay.Duke Johnson has been a popular name in my Twitter mentions over the past few days.Yes, I think the Bears would have some level of “interest” in Johnson, but I’m not sure they would be willing to part with much more than a late round or future draft pick. It has already been reported that the Browns aren’t going to simply give him away, so that leads me to believe that they are looking for a certain compensation or they won’t move him.In theory, Johnson seems like a good fit, but do keep in mind that he recently signed a three-year extension worth slightly over $5 million per year. Also keep in mind that in a lot of ways, he’s like a less dynamic Cohen, who has more value as an outside zone runner and a pass catcher out of the backfield. If I had to guess, the Bears will likely look for a cheaper fit. It’s not secret that the Bears have been somewhat docile this offseason in terms of spending in free agency. It’s also no secret that they lack draft picks in this year’s draft. It’s also come to many’s attention that the Bears could be in line for a multitude of picks next year. Those range from a projected comp pick in the 4th round (from Adrian Amos), coupled with two more conditional picks (one from the Eagles and one from the Raiders) that could both end up being fifth-rounders.The problem is that one the team is only projected to have a pair of second rounders, with no first or third round picks in 2020. Obviously a bulk of mid-to-late round picks are possible Womens James Daniels Jersey , but here’s how things look right now in 2020.(2) Second Rounders (Their own and the Raiders’)(2) Fourth Rounders (Their own and a projected comp pick for Amos)(2) Fifth Rounders (Their own and a conditional pick from the Raiders)(2) Sixth Rounders (Their own and a conditional pick from the Eagles that could turn into a fifth)(1) Seventh RoundThat’s a total of nine picks with all but two coming in the fourth round or later. Originally, it appeared that they would be in line for another comp pick from the Bryce Callahan deal, but because Witzmann’s deal didn’t break a threshold, he doesn’t help their current formula. With all of this in mind, it’s plausible that the Bears could opt to trade a 2019 fourth-rounder and their 2020 second-rounder to get into the late second round like they did last year with New England. I would imagine they want to hold onto that Raiders pick because it’s likely to be much higher than their own. If they were to do that, I’d assume it would be for a running back.I could absolutely see this happening, but again, fans need to understand the risk, especially with they lack yet another first round pick and also a third-rounder as well. I had a few similar questions regarding the tight end position and at this point, I think it’s a valid one.The team has a decent amount invested at the position, but I think it’s also safe to wonder how stable it is. Trey Burton appeared to be a very good pickup earlier in the year, but struggled down the stretch before missing their playoff game. Adam Shaheen has not proven he can stay healthy or even stay on his feet and Ben Braunecker is quality depth, but likely not much more.In terms of priorities, I would say that if one is there in the mid-rounds, it could make a lot of sense. Two of my favorites would be Jace Sternberger (Texas A&M) and Foster Moreau (LSU). I do think that running back is going to be the priority, but defensive back, tight end, interior offensive line and maybe even edge rusher could be in line for additions as well.Nagy has put a high value on the tight end position, so it wouldn’t shock me at all to see a fourth-rounder used on one.Patterson was one of my favorite additions on the off-season so far. Not only does he bring speed, he brings versatility. The Patriots used him as a receiver, running back and kick returner.Truth be told, he’s still a questionable receiver and he’s not likely to make a Ty Montgomery type switch to a pure running back. Even so http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-aaron-lynch-jersey , I absolutely believe Nagy has a plan for him and I don’t think it’ll be just in one spot.I would expect him as the primary kick returner, as well as in a lot of gimmicky plays such as jet sweeps, multi-back backfields and as a deep threat in the passing game. Overall, I wouldn’t expect Patterson to put up an impressive line of stats, but I do think his value is going to be bigger on the field than what most on the outside will see.First off, I have to say I’m pretty bummed about the recent news of the AAF’s downfall just seven games into the season. Admittedly so, I didn’t watch a ton of games, but after an extended football season, I figured I would give my wife a chance to watch what she wanted to watch. With that in mind, I think there are always positions and profiles for players that make sense for teams. For the Bears, I think the obvious ones are kicker, pass rusher and even defensive back.As far as kickers go, the one I’d really like to see get a look is former Chargers kicker Younghoe Koo. He was perfect on the season and showed some promise before being cut in Los Angeles. As far as edge rushers go, two names stood out to me as players worth a look: Karter Schult and Jayrone Elliott. Schult is still just 25-years-old and Elliott is a bit older at 27, but he ended up leading the league in sacks when all was said and done.As far as defensive backs go, I think you’re simply looking for developmental depth. A few names that I’d give a look at: Chris Davis, Zack Sanchez, and one of my favorites Jamar Summers. Not sure any of these guys will push a team over the top or fight for a starting spot in year-one, but Super Bowl contenders can never have enough depth.
SANTA CLARA http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-melvin-gordon-jersey , Calif. (AP) — John Lynch pulled off a surprise when he orchestrated a trade for Pro Bowl defensive end Dee Ford in March. Lynch’s decision to take Ohio State’s Nick Bosa with the second overall pick in the draft Thursday was anticipated. The two moves give the 49ers a pair of bookend edge rushers who should immediately help a defense that generated 36 sacks and finished 23rd in the NFL last season.“It’s something that (coach Kyle Shanahan) and I had as a priority when we got here,” Lynch said. “Two of the first things we talked about is finding our quarterback and finding the guys to knock them down. Both in quality and quantity we have improved drastically in that respect. Now we have to go deliver. Nick really helps us in our ability to do that.”Ford is coming off the first Pro Bowl season of his career and is penciled in to start on the right side of San Francisco’s defensive line while Bosa is projected to start on the left.It marks the fourth time in five years that the 49ers took a defensive lineman with their first-round pick, all in hopes of improving a pass rush that has been mediocre for several seasons.Bosa, whose brother is Chargers star Joey Bosa, believes the quality of San Francisco’s line will make it easier for him to blend in.“It’s unbelievable just to be on a team that really shouldn’t have been this high in the draft with all the talent that they have,” Bosa said. “And then they add Dee Ford, which makes this D-line scary. It’s pretty impossible to double-team any of us because then you’re single-teaming one of us. It’s going to be fun.”Bosa had 17 ½ sacks and 29 tackles for loss in 30 games with the Buckeyes. He played in only three games as a junior before suffering a core muscle injury that required surgery. Although there was speculation Bosa would return to school, he announced in mid-October that he would be concentrating on the draft.Bosa’s last game was on Sept. 15 when he had five tackles, a sack and a forced fumble against TCU.“I miss it a lot, man Philip Rivers Jersey ,” Bosa said. “You don’t realize it until you’re away from it for so long. I’m itching to get out there, I really am.”Prior to getting hurt, Bosa had four sacks, 14 tackles, six tackles for loss and a forced fumble and was in the early Heisman Trophy conversations. That came on the heels of his spectacular sophomore campaign when Bosa had eight sacks, 15 tackles for loss and was the Big Ten defensive lineman of the year despite starting only four of the 14 games he played.“When you’re watching players certain things jump out right away. Nick has a tremendous first step, he gains a ton of ground,” Lynch said. “A mix of speed and power and then he’s an absolute technician with his hands. He’s not only incredibly talented, powerful, fast but he’s very efficient in the way he plays.”Shanahan believes his newest rookie can do more than just chase after quarterbacks.“I see him as a three-down player Womens Kellen Winslow Jersey ,” Shanahan said. “He’s got to come in and do it. His best strength is rushing the passer but he can play all three downs and can play in all situations.”Bosa does come with some baggage. He recently came under scrutiny for comments he made on Twitter regarding political and racial subjects. Bosa deleted some of them and told ESPN he did so because he might end up in San Francisco.“I love the Bay Area and I’m excited to play there,” Bosa said after being drafted. “I was a little insensitive in some of the things I said. I’ve learned a lot in the past few months. I’m just ready to move forward from that, put it in the past, and bring the faithful some wins.”Lynch said the 49ers spoke with several of Bosa’s teammates and coaches and had been made aware of the issues on social media.“As we do with all of our prospects, we do background checks and look at their social media,” Lynch said. “We choose to think more about what we’ve heard from people as to who the person really is. We’re going to give him a fresh start and we hope that everybody will.”The 49ers may be tempted to stay on the defensive side during the second day of the draft. San Francisco needs help in the secondary, although it has issues at receiver and with the depth of the offensive line. Over the last month and a half, Chargers fans and media pundits, alike, have been curious to the finer details of Russell Okung’s “undisclosed” injury http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-lance-alworth-jersey , reported shortly before the team’s mandatory mini-camp that saw Okung as a non-participant.Well, this morning, we all got what we’ve been waiting for: an explanation.According to Okung, just on a precautionary whim, he went to the doctor for a check-up. To his dismay, the blindside protector was blind-sided, himself. His tests came back with the results claiming a Pulmonary Embolism caused by blood clots.Okung continues to note that he is “okay” and is “on the path to full recovery”.This is spectacular news for the Chargers that Okung may not be out as long as some initially expected, but caution should still be used as this is a diagnosis that won’t likely ever go away completely. For now, Okung can focus on his health and immediate future while the team gets younger tackles Sam Tevi and Trent Scott ready for what may be coming their way in week 1.
the Eagles’ approach to the draft as trying to add volume http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-wes-hopkins-jersey , rather than targeting one elite player at a position of need. Eagles General Manager Howie Roseman is of the same mind.Roseman said today that he’s all about adding depth in the draft and getting as many players as possible.“Try to accumulate a lot of good players,” Roseman said. “There are a lot of good players on both sides of the ball.”Although a franchise quarterback is an obvious exception, and the Eagles don’t regret trading up for Carson Wentz, generally speaking, Roseman said he has made mistakes in the past when targeting one specific player, and he now believes that it’s more about getting several players — perhaps at positions that aren’t needs now, but might be in a year or two.“I’ve been humbled in the past by some of the mistakes I’ve made,” Roseman said. “We don’t know what we’re going to need a year from now, two years from now, and we’re trying to get long-term players on our team.”Roseman sounds like he’s more interested in trading down for more picks than in trading up for one specific player. It’s a smart strategy, one that has helped Roseman build one of the NFL’s best rosters. Philadelphia Eagles news and links for 3/20/19."Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles links ...Report: Eagles ‘really like’ Alabama RB Josh Jacobs - CBS SportsGeoff Mosher: “I’ve been hearing that...don’t be shocked if the Eagles take a running back in the first round. They really like Josh Jacobs.” Adam Caplan: “I talked to Greg Cosell from NFL Films. He likes (Jacobs) a lot. An offensive coordinator who I ran into at the combine said Jacobs is his top graded back in the draft. He’s a three-down back.” Geoff Mosher: “I think we need to adjust our philosophy. The people that said Howie Roseman would never take a running back in the first round. Do remember, two years ago...if Christian McCaffery was there at No. 14, he would have been an Eagle.”Why The Eagles Brought Ronald Darby Back - BGNAll things considered, Darby’s transitional quickness gives him route-mirroring ability that is starting-caliber in the NFL; his click-and-close explosiveness and catch-point skills are in the upper echelon of NFL starters altogether. Darby hasn’t finished a season since 2016, but he has Pro Bowl ability on the field, and if he can stay healthy (and return to health without losing his athletic ability), Eagles fans should be excited about his starting role in 2019.NFC East free agency grades: Dallas Cowboys edition - PhillyVoiceWithout knowing exactly what Lawrence is looking for Wilbert Montgomery Jersey , contract-wise, the clock is ticking on a resolution there. The Cowboys can ill-afford to mess up that situation, because their defense is in deep trouble without him. Otherwise, predictably, the Cowboys were not players in the first wave of free agency. They’ll hunt bargains the rest of the way. Their grade is probably better saved until we see what these contract extensions for their current players look like, but they might not happen until much later this offseason. For now, we’ll give them an arbitrary C+.Lawlor: Players show they want to come to Philly - PE.comI think you have to give Howie Roseman a lot of credit for adding an impact player to the offense and defense. Too often people think of teams that make the most moves as being those who win in the offseason. That’s wrong. You want to make smart, selective moves. The Eagles have done just that. One thing that really stood out to me is that players wanted to be here. Graham didn’t even talk to other teams. He wanted to stay with the Eagles. Malik Jackson wants to play in an attacking scheme and for a winning team. DeSean Jackson has talked a lot over the years about wanting a chance to return to Philly.2019 NFL Free Agency winners and losers: PFF WAR - PFFWhile getting back a first- and a third-round pick for Odell Beckham Jr. may seem like a strong return, the truth of the matter is this: OBJ was one of the most valuable non-quarterbacks in recent memory and his nearly two full wins above replacement are going to be hard to come by. Combine that with their loss of Landon Collins, who was worth three-quarters of a win, on the defensive side of the ball, and the Giants have done more harm than good to a roster depleted of playmakers outside of Saquon Barkley.A Giant Mess - RotoworldThere’s no denying Barkley’s remarkable skill set, but when a foundation piece at the most important position is staring you square in the face, you don’t dare look that gift horse in the mouth. To say Barkley had a superior rookie year to Darnold is both a statement of fact and a short-sighted, ludicrously flawed rationale for Gettleman’s poor use of draft capital. Even if Barkley continues on this path and becomes the next LaDainian Tomlinson—a distinct possibility after leading the league in yards from scrimmage last year—the Giants still got it wrong from a team-building philosophy. It’s not just that running backs have a significantly shorter shelf life than QBs (the continued dominance of Drew Brees and Tom Brady would point to that fact). It’s a simple matter of supply and demand. Compared to elite quarterbacks, star running backs practically grow on trees. Chris Carson was four picks away from being Mr. Irrelevant two years ago. Phillip “who lives at home” Lindsay wasn’t even drafted last year. Both rushed for over 1,000 yards last season.Eagles’ offseason is going much better than rest of NFC East - NBCSPCollins got a mega-deal Womens Harold Carmichael Jersey , the kind the Giants were never going to pay him. The ‘Skins got a great player, but they clearly had to overpay to do it. He’s getting $14M a year. The Keenum deal isn’t awful given their circumstances, but Keenum vs. Colt McCoy in training camp kind of tells you about the ceiling the Redskins have in 2019.They actually signed Flowers, the failed Giants draft pick, and plan to play him at guard. The Eagles have to be thrilled about that decision. The worst part of the ‘Skins’ offseason is that we’re apparently finding out about all these moves at the same time as head coach Jay Gruden. According to a report from 106.7, Gruden learned about the Collins signing only when a media member texted him. That’s not great.Passing-game role makes Ezekiel Elliott even more valuable - PFTAlso, there are two contracts that control the relationship: The contract between the player and the team, and the contract between the union and the league. Elliott has rights under the broader contract that are independent of his individual contract, and that allow him to technically violate the terms of his own deal. that group), which says a lot about the job Ozzie Newsome did building those teams.Redskins Sign Offensive Lineman Ereck Flowers to a One-Year Deal - Hogs HavenThe Redskins just received some help on the offensive line, and it comes in the form of a 6’6” 335 pound 24 year old player. Former Giants first round pick Ereck Flowers has signed a one-year, $4 million dollar contract to join the Washington Redskins.Jets re-sign Eric Tomlinson and Brent Qvale - Gang Green Nation[BLG Note: The Eagles originally signed Tomlinson as an undrafted free agent back in 2015 and he’s still hanging on in the league.]Slot size matters - Niners NationYou just need to scheme for it, and add downfield blocking to your mix. This is what Chip Kelly did at Oregon, but was never quite able to achieve in the NFL. And he picked Jordan Matthews in the second round of his second draft as part of his attempt to make it happen. Kelly’s Philly teams had great WR blocking, once DeSean Jackson was gone, and one of the best blocking receivers was a veteran named Miles Austin, now an offensive quality control coach for the Niners. He mentored Matthews in Philly and recruited him to the team this offseason http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-randall-cunningham-jersey , Matthews told team reporter Keiana Martin. The completely risk free nature of Mychal Kendricks’ contract with the Seahawks - Field GullsIt has been less than a week since the Seattle Seahawks inked Mychal Kendricks to a one year contract, and that has led many observers to believe that it was an extremely good sign for his prospects for freedom. Terms of the contract have now been released, and it shows that the signing carries effectively no financial risk for the Hawks, as there is no guaranteed money. If the Giants pass on Haskins the Jaguars’ decision may not be easy - Big Cat CountryThe question the Jaguars need to answer is how close they think this team is to competing without upgrading the offensive line or receiving corps with their present draft slot. As Oehser further noted, if the Jaguars believe Foles is the answer then they should not expect to be sitting high in in the first round for a few years to come. Your opportunity to grab a premier quarterback may be a present truth. Oehser makes a compelling point, one that mirrors what the Green Bay Packers did years ago when you still had Brett Favre on the roster but Aaron Rodgers fell to them. If you believe Haskins has the head for the NFL, but needs some bench time to transition considering his limited playing time at Ohio State, sitting behind Foles seems like an optimal scenario for the Jaguars. How the NFL can save the onside kick - ESPNThe NFL’s onside kick might be responsible for more drama than any other single strategy in football. The mere possibility that a team can steal an extra possession has preserved hope and extended the attention of fans for generations. So it’s no wonder that the competition committee and coaches around the league are scouring for ways to restore the onside kick this offseason after it faded as a viable option in 2018. Restricted by rule changes designed to make the kickoff safer, teams recovered only four of 52 attempts last season for a 7.7 conversion rate -- a sharp drop from 2017 (21.1) and well below the long-term average between 2001 and 2017 (19.7 percent). What Does All That Cap Space Really Mean for NFL Teams, and How Should They Use It? - The RingerThe Colts came into free agency with over $100 million in room and big expectations. But as they’ve played things conservatively, Indy has illustrated the value in using that financial flexibility with patience and creativity.Ledyard: 2019 NFL Draft Edge Defender Rankings - The Draft NetworkNick Bosa or Josh Allen? Montez Sweat or Brian Burns? Rashan Gary or Chase Winovich? These are the questions that will invade our pre-draft conversations from now until April 25th. While the draft world likely remains unsettled on anything close to a strong consensus on the 2019 edge defender class, my grade on the position group have been finalized. I went trait-by-trait to break down how each of my top nine prospects grade out.Is DeSean Jackson actually a good fit for the Eagles? - SB NationThe Eagles brought back a fan favorite in DeSean Jackson, but is he right player to help Philadelphia’s offense take off? To celebrate, we’re counting down 100 days from our regular season kickoff with the top 100 moments in franchise history.Yesterday it was probably the nicest moment in franchise history — retiring Dan Marino.Today we remember Blake Bortles throwing for three four touchdowns against the New England Patriots before the beginning of the end that was last season. This was the performance of a lifetime for Bortles, but let’s not forget that offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett had one hell of a game plan for this game — crossers, yards after the catch, throws into the flat, and timing routes all accounted for the offense having its most productive and efficient game of last season. And you can’t watch the highlights below and say you didn’t believe Blake had proven us wrong after doubting his extension just months prior.Send us your favorite moments and we’ll dig into each one until the Jaguars kick off on September 8th — including whatever video, audio Dawuane Smoot Jersey , or stories we can find.Comment below, tweet at us, comment on our Facebook, or DM us on Instagram! HOUSTON (AP) — Jacksonville Jaguars coach Doug Marrone and general manager Dave Caldwell will return next season. The futures of quarterback Blake Bortles and running back Leonard Fournette are far less certain.Team owner Shad Khan issued a statement after the season finale saying top executive Tom Coughlin has decided to retain Marrone and Caldwell, even though the team flopped to last place in the AFC South. The Jaguars fell to 5-11 with Sunday’s 20-3 loss to the Houston Texans, a year after finishing 10-6 and reaching the AFC championship game.“We get judged on wins and losses,” Marrone said. “Obviously, this year http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-andrew-norwell-jersey , I didn’t do a good job. Period. I’m never going to step away from that. I’m happy with the faith because I do believe I will get this right.”Khan gave Coughlin, Marrone and Caldwell one-year contract extensions after Jacksonville faltered in the title game and seemingly viewed this season’s slew of injuries — most of them on the offensive side of the ball — as a main culprit for the team’s failure.“I have the same trust in Tom, Dave and Doug as I did upon their introduction two years ago, and I do believe our best path forward for the moment is the one less disruptive and dramatic,” Khan said. “Stability should not be confused with satisfaction, however. I am far from content with the status quo and while it’s best to put 2018 behind us, I will not overlook how poorly we accounted for ourselves following a 3-1 start.“There were far too many long Sundays over the last three quarters of the season, with today’s loss in Houston being the final example that cannot repeat itself in 2019 Womens Abry Jones Jersey ,” he continued. “That’s my message to our football people and players, but also our sponsors and fans, both of whom were remarkable.”The Jaguars returned to Bortles as the starter after benching the quarterback following a loss to Buffalo on Nov. 25. But he did little to get Jacksonville’s offense going. He was 15 of 28 for 107 yards as the Jaguars managed only six first downs.Bortles compiled a 24-49 record as a starter in five seasons. The third overall pick in the 2014 draft is due to count $21 million against the salary cap, and the Jags can save $9.5 million by cutting him with a post-June 1 designation.Bortles was asked if he thought Sunday’s game would be his last for Jacksonville.“I don’t know,” he said. “If I did … I hope I’ll get an opportunity to come play again, but if not, I’ll figure it out and go play somewhere else. We’ll see what happens. I’ve got to wait until they let me know.”When asked how he wants to be remembered for his time in Jacksonville, he said: “Hopefully Lerentee McCray Jersey , not by this game.”Marrone said his team’s offensive struggles went far beyond Bortles.“My confidence level is not about Blake Bortles. It’s about what we have to do offensively,” Marrone said. “Right now, that confidence is low, judging by the numbers. I’d be a fool to say I have confidence in anything, from an offensive standpoint.”The Jaguars also could be done with Fournette, the fourth overall pick in the 2017 draft who missed eight games because of injuries and a suspension.Fournette, who was inactive because of foot and ankle injuries, was caught by TV cameras sitting on the bench during the game and chatting with running back T.J. Yeldon while the offense had the ball. They were clearly disengaged with teammates and coaches.Coughlin had strong words for both of them afterward.“I am disappointed in the behavior today from T.J. Yeldon and Leonard Fournette http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-keelan-cole-jersey ,” Coughlin said in a statement. “They were disrespectful, selfish and their behavior was unbecoming that of a professional football player.”
in the locker room after Thursday’s loss. The Cowboys had a chippy practice Sunday that included trash-talking.On Monday Womens Walter Payton Jersey , Dak Prescott said it’s time to walk the talk.“When it’s times like this, it’s more lead by example,” the said. “Talk is cheap, right? We’ve talked a lot. We’ve talked a bunch and got ourselves right to where we are. In a moment like this I say to hell with the talking, and I’m going to do more. “I’m going to work harder, and if you’re a young guy looking for somebody to figure it out, how to do it, yeah, look at me and some of these other guys because that’s exactly what we’re doing, putting our head down focusing and doubling down on ourselves.”The Cowboys are well aware that the Dolphins did them a favor with an upset of the Eagles on Sunday http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-jim-mcmahon-jersey , keeping them in sole possession of first place. They also know unless they play better than they have, it won’t matter. The Cowboys are 0-5 against teams with winning records. The Bears have the same 6-6 record as the Cowboys.“It obviously hasn’t gone the way we’ve wanted it to, but we’re still in a position where things are still in front of us,” Prescott said. “It’s about focusing on now, not looking too far ahead or trying to get there right now, but taking care of this day and doing it the best we can. Being in this position, it’s all about coming to work each and every day, focusing on that day and the task at hand and look up here in a month and be where we want to be.“I can sit here and say as much as I want to you guys, but it’s about going out there executing at practice and doing it on Thursday.”Prescott has a chance to show his leadership this week and the rest of this season. He’s ready for that assignment.Prescott said he wants his teammates to follow his lead.“I hope they are,” Prescott said. “I’m not sure if they are Tarik Cohen Jersey , if that’s their mindset or not, but I hope they are, just because the way I’m going to go about this. I’ve faced adversity a lot in my life on and off the field, and at this moment, I’m just doubling down on myself and my teammates. I’ve got confidence in what I can do and what these guys around me can do and hope they’re looking my way.” The Chicago Bears are coming off a solid victory against a team that they should have beaten. This Sunday, they travel to Buffalo to put the finishing touches on their 4-game excursion against the AFC East. The Bears will hopefully fly home victorious, meaning they went 2-2 in that stretch and are 5-3 at the halfway point. The biggest test in this game will be scoring on a very good good Bills defense. The other side of the ball, however, is a different story entirely. The Bills offensive line is a mess, they don’t run the ball particularly well Womens James Daniels Jersey , and they are likely starting Nathan Peterman at quarterback. Peterman has been nothing short of awful in his short NFL career thus far, so this would be a welcome development for the Bears. If Peterman does start, I think you can expect to see Vic Fangio put on his Urban Sombrero and strut his stuff. Here is my list of players to keep an eye on Sunday afternoon.Who to WatchAnthony Miller: I am expecting the Bears to sit Allen Robinson again this week. There simply is not reason to risk him to injury if you can win a game without him, he is going to be necessary in the second half of the season. The player that I think is going to step up in a big way this week is Anthony Miller. He has been open a ton the past few games and it feels like he and Mitch Trubisky are on the verge of breaking out. I think it happens this week. Jordan Howard: Given how I expect this game to play out, and how awful the Bills offense is, the Bears should have Jordan Howard on the game plan in permanent marker. Kyle Long is going to be out, but given his play this season, that might not be a bad thing. Unless, of course, Eric Kush is going to start in his stead. My personal preference would be to see what recently signed Bryan Witzmann looks like at right guard. The running game improved with rookie guard James Daniels in the game and I would like to see what a re-tooled offensive line would look like.Leonard Floyd: I am assuming that Khalil Mack is going to sit this game out as well http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-aaron-lynch-jersey , which means that Leonard Floyd needs to step up. Floyd has played the run well and has been sneaky solid in the passing game, providing both pressure and coverage ability. But that isn’t enough. The good news is that Floyd will likely be lined up against a player that Bears fans know well: Jordan Mills. If last Monday’s game was any indication of Mills’ improvements—or lack thereof—then Floyd should have a big game. Eddie Jackson: No matter what Matt Nagy or Eddie Jackson has said about his late hit last week, it was a dumb play, no way around that. After some reflection on his part (hopefully), he will come out hungry against the Bills. As many have noted, Peterman is an interception machine, handing them out like Oprah does cars. The cornerbacks should feast a bit but Jackson has shown an ability to be a ballhawk against lesser competition, and Nathan Peterman is certainly that. What are your thoughts? Which Bears players are you keeping an eye on this Sunday afternoon against the Bills?Stay tuned for my Three Keys to the Game tomorrow morning and in case you missed it, here is my What to Watch For from earlier today.
to start Arizona's final drive with a few choice words."We're going to win this (expletive) game Womens Uchenna Nwosu Jersey ," he said. And the Cardinals did just that.Rosen threw a 9-yard touchdown pass to fellow rookie Christian Kirk with 34 seconds to play to rally the Arizona Cardinals to an 18-15 victory over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday in a matchup of teams with two of the worst records in the NFL."That was a lot of fun," Rosen said. "That's why sports are fun."The Cardinals, winners at home for the first time under first-year coach Steve Wilks, beat San Francisco for the eighth straight time and second time in three weeks."Our defense gave us a very good chance to win that, giving us three turnovers and getting us a 12-point lead," San Francisco coach Kyle Shanahan said. "We didn't capitalize on them enough for touchdowns and we didn't make the plays at the end when we needed to."Arizona (2-6) got two fourth-quarter touchdown passes from Rosen after the 49ers (1-7) had built a 15-3 lead.Rosen's 13-yard pass to Larry Fitzgerald cut the lead to 15-10 with 11:06 to play. Fitzgerald also caught a 2-point conversion pass after Kirk's TD.Fitzgerald, in his 15th NFL season, caught eight passes for 102 yards, his best game of the season. He had four catches for 81 yards in the fourth quarter and the crowd chanted "LAR-RY Russell Okung Jersey , LAR-RY.""I threw him the ball and he caught it, whether it was a good ball or a bad ball," Rosen said. "That's why he's a first-ballot Hall of Famer. I'm going to be telling my kids one day that I got to throw to him."Fitzgerald even spiked the football after the 2-point catch, something he said he'd never done before."We don't spike the ball in our house," Wilks said, "but I'll let that one slide. I think he got carried away."Fitzgerald joked that he'd been upset because his oldest son had chosen to go to the state fair instead of the game.C.J. Beathard connected with Marquise Goodwin on a 55-yard play for the 49ers' only touchdown.San Francisco was slogging along with a 5-3 lead before Goodwin beat Patrick Peterson and took a short pass over the middle, then raced to the end zone to make it 12-3 in the third quarter. Robbie Gould's second field goal of the game, from 20 yards, boosted the lead to 15-3.San Francisco appeared to get a critical turnover with 4:44 to play http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-kyle-emanuel-jersey , needing a coach's challenge to get it. Arizona tight end Jermaine Gresham fumbled along the sideline and the 49ers' Fred Warner recovered at the San Francisco 31. Officials initially ruled a 49er touched the ball while out of bounds, but the 49ers challenged and replays showed the player tried but failed to touch it.But the Niners couldn't move the ball and Arizona went 73 yards in 12 plays for the winning score, using 1:42.The two TD drives came under the direction of new offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich, who was promoted from quarterbacks coach after Mike McCoy was fired."We really didn't change much in the offense," Rosen said. "One thing I think Byron's really good with is just his demeanor. ... He's got really good timing with a lot of his play calls. He's got that poise. He's a steadying force. It wasn't a pretty one by any means, but baby steps here."San Francisco scored first when, backed up deep in Arizona territory, Rosen was called for intentional grounding in the end zone. The resulting safety made it 2-0.The only real scoring drive of the first half resulted in Dawson's 31-yard field goal that put Arizona up 3-2. The 12-play, 78-yard drive was kept alive by a third-down pass interference penalty on Reuben Foster. The only turnover of the first half set up San Francisco's go-ahead field goal. Jaquiski Tartt stepped in front of intended receiver Kirk and intercepted Rosen's pass Womens Forrest Lamp Jersey , returning it 21 yards to the Cardinals 12. But the 49ers couldn't move the ball and Gould's 27-yard field goal put San Francisco ahead 5-3.FITZ HITS 112Fitzgerald's 112th career touchdown catch moves him past Tony Gonzalez alone into seventh on the NFL career list. He's caught a TD pass in each of his last two games after getting none the first six games of the season. He needs three to tie Antonio Gates for sixth.INJURIESThe already beat-up 49ers lost two important defensive players.Foster left early with a hamstring injury. Tartt was knocked out with a shoulder injury.49ers defensive back Amare Exum Jr. left in the fourth quarter with a head injury.UP NEXT49ers: host Oakland on Thursday night.Cardinals: have bye week, play at Kansas City on Nov. 11. The word from Chargers coach Anthony Lynn on Tuesday morning wasn’t optimistic about the chances that running backs Melvin Gordon and Austin Ekeler would be in the lineup against the Chiefs on Thursday.Ekeler remained out of practice Tuesday with a neck injury and a concussion, but the news about Gordon was more positive. Gordon was a limited participant in practice for the Chargers and said that a decision on his status remains up in the air.“I’ve been grinding hard to get back and we’re still trying to decide what we’re going to do,” Gordon said, via ESPN.com. “I know Coach is trying to be careful and doesn’t want me to further hurt myself or things like that. So we’ll see where that goes, but I’m a lot stronger and more confident than I was last week.”If Gordon and Ekeler are both out, rookies Justin Jackson and Detrez Newsome would be the running backs. Quarterback Philip Rivers said he thinks they’re up to the task and he’ll work to “take a little bit off of them so they can play fast” on Thursday.
The Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles’ front four pass rush is the life blood of the defense. It’s success relies heavily on being able to get pressure at will against even the best offensive lines. But through three games Jerome Brown Jersey , and despite amassing 8 sacks, some are still questioning if the fellas we pay to eat quarterbacks are leaving some meat on the bone.As with any discussion like this, context is king. Opposing coordinators understand they’re outmatched against the Eagles defensive line and adjust their game-plans accordingly. They’ve also had a run of opposing quarterbacks that dish the ball quick. That’s not just being braggadocios, there’s solid data from Pro Football Focus to back up that claim.Data via Pro Football FocusAs you can see above, despite not facing a quarterback with an average over 2.40 seconds from snap to throw, the Eagles are still getting near or above 40% pressure rates. That’s right where they were last year.Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick was especially quick-triggered against the Eagles. By my own charting he released the ball by the final step in his natural drop or within the first hitch on 71% of his dropbacks. That didn’t deter the rush from getting penetration but it did neutralize it by exposing a defense playing with significant cushion. The Indianapolis Colts hit with similar speed. Quarterback Andrew Luck is still building strength back in his throwing shoulder and with a lack of weapons outside of TY Hilton, the offense adopted a quick-hitting, high percentage west coast style.FLETCHER COXGoing through the different members of the front four against the Colts, Fletcher Cox had his lowest output of the year. Per Pro Football Focus, he contributed 3 pressures and a half sack, but plays like this one don’t register despite the clean win at the snap. Can’t sack the quarterback if the ball is gone in one step, everybody knows that.Cox had a solid day and was his usual disruptive self both in the pass game and in the run game. Plus, he’s had a crazy productive season, playing 54 snaps a game and contributing 16 pressures and 2.5 sacks. He wants to add hardware on his mantle http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-seth-joyner-jersey , but teams just aren’t willing to take five step drops and wait for death against this unit, so it will be an uphill climb.CHRIS LONGOne of the most underrated players on this unit, Long has been a steady veteran presence with a knack for getting to the quarterback and forcing fumbles. On just 31 passing plays he provided a big boost, totaling the second most pressures (9) of all defenders in Week 3. Your browser does not support HTML5 video.Long’s been running the arc for a long time and understands how to get himself free. Notice the long arm stab with his inside pole to soften the edge, followed by attacking the hands of the lineman to free himself. This, coupled with Michael Bennett’s effective bull rush, turns the pocket into a blender that Luck is barely able to escape. The heat caused a stop on third down even though it doesn’t go in the books as a sack. He’s been the best edge rusher all season and ties Cox in total pressures (16) at the top of the team.MICHAEL BENNETTJim Schwartz loves to move Bennett around. From inside to outside, left to right, straight up rushes and clever stunts, he does it all at a high level. That type of versatility can wreak havoc, even when the offenses scheme in extra protection. In the clip below, Bennett’s lined up over the right tackle next to Long. There’s a chip on Long that neutralizes him, tight end Eric Ebron chips Derek Barnett to impact his arc, and a slide on Cox grabs the attention of two blockers at the snap.Your browser does not support HTML5 video.Chip Womens Jason Peters Jersey , chip, slide and you still get Bennett one-on-one in a plus match-up agianst Matt Slauson. Luck is able to climb the pocket to space but Bennett hits his arm and disrupts his throwing motion which leads to a harmless duck fluttering in the wind. It’s a good reminder that even when the front four doesn’t get home, the attention they receive limits what an offense can do schematically. Ebron’s chip dictates not only his alignment, but the timing in which he can get into his route. Same for Jordan Wilkins, who gets caught up in the traffic before releasing late. That takes two potential targets out of the play. That’s two potential targets that the Colts can’t include on downfield route combinations that attack the sticks and stress defenders with multi-level concepts.BRANDON GRAHAMAssuming Graham is still fighting his way back to 100% health, his lack of splashy box score stats shouldn’t be too worrisome. He’s still fourth on the team in pressures (10), a demon against the run, and a mismatch when kicked inside against guards. Four of those pressures came Sunday, including this one.Your browser does not support HTML5 video. This is the play that resulted in Jalen Mills’ 33-yard defensive pass interference, but the main focus here is Graham moving Luck off the spot at the top of his drop. Offenses are timing based, if you can disrupt that timing as quickly as Graham does here, you’ll come out with a successful result more often than not.DEREK BARNETTAfter a quiet start to his season, amassing only 3 pressures in the first two weeks, Barnett showed up when he needed to in a plus match-up. With Colts’ tackle Anthony Castonzo out of action Brian Dawkins Jersey , Barnett worked over Le’Raven Clark throughout the game.Beyond his 5 pressures, second most for the Eagles on the day, he also added a 1.5 sacks. His half sack, shared with Cox, was a team effort.Your browser does not support HTML5 video.Much deserved props to Cox who plows his way through a double team, but we knew he had that in him. What’s encouraging from this rep is Barnett’s speed-to-power rush. Often reliant on his patented dip-and-rip, Barnett flashes a shiny new tool and it pays off. As we track his development signs like this are what’s needed, even if it’s against a backup. In the 3rd quarter with the score tied up at 10-10 and the Colts at the Eagles 17-yard line, Barnett’s snap anticipation jumping got him a big win that won’t show up in the stat sheet.Your browser does not support HTML5 video.Having studied Barnett throughout the years, 3rd quarter and at home seems par for the course regarding when Barnett gets keyed into to snap cadences. If he’s going to have the frustrating offsides penalties like he did in the first two weeks, plays like this need to hit with more frequency for it to not be a problem. It’s great that this one does come off though, because it pushed the Colts out of the red zone and they eventually settled for a field goal. One thing that can’t be questioned about Barnett is his ability to make splash plays in big moments. He did it with a strip sack in the NFC Championship Game and in the Super Bowl with a fumble recovery. Against the Colts, he pretty much secures the win on a fantastic individual effort.Your browser does not support HTML5 video.IN SUMMARY...This is all a long way of saying that if you’re concerned about the pass rush, gentle reader http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authenti...ey-jones-jersey , it’s been there. In fact it’s never left us. Furthermore, it’s going to get better as Graham hits his stride and Barnett continues to (hopefully) develop. The addition of Bennett has masked the loss of Timmy Jernigan and the unit as whole is still carrying it’s weight. Now imagine this pass rush playing opposite an offense that is piece-by-piece and ever so slowly getting back to looking like the unit from 2017. Playing with a consistent lead can be a real boon for a front four that transforms into a wood-chipper in desperate passing situations. PHILADELPHIA (AP) — He’s back.Carson Wentz has been cleared to return and is slated to start for the Philadelphia Eagles against Indianapolis in Week 3.“I was impressed with how well he attacked his rehab throughout the offseason,” coach Doug Pederson said Monday. “He’s done everything we’ve asked him to do and he’s ready to go.”Wentz tore his left ACL and LCL on Dec. 10, 2017 in a game against the Los Angeles Rams and had surgery three days later. Backup quarterback Nick Foles led the Eagles to their first NFL title since 1960 and was Super Bowl MVP in the 41-33 victory over New England.Foles embraced his role from the start and wanted to return to the Eagles this season instead of seeking a starting opportunity elsewhere.“The greatest thing for me is that (quarterback) room has no egos,” Pederson said. “Nick all along has understood that this is Carson’s football team. We owe a lot of gratitude to Nick Foles for what he’s done and how he’s led this team. He’s very supportive.”Wentz set a single-season franchise record with 33 touchdown passes last season. The final one came a few plays after he suffered his injury.Wentz, the No. 2 overall pick in 2016, finished third in NFL MVP voting in his second year. Pederson doesn’t expect him to pick up where he left off immediately.“It’s going to take some time to get in the rhythm and flow of the game,” Pederson said. “The speed of the game is different than practice. He will be totally prepared. He comes early, stays late, asks a lot of questions, he has a lot of ideas. He’ll be ready mentally.”The Eagles (1-1) lost 27-21 at Tampa Bay (2-0) on Sunday.Wide receiver Mike Wallace broke his fibula in the first quarter and will miss several weeks.Wentz probably won’t have top receiver Alshon Jeffery, either. He’s been sidelined since having offseason shoulder surgery and Pederson said Jeffery is week to week.“Carson’s not Superman. It’s going to take the 10 other guys around him to do their job as well,” Pederson said.
joint-practice with the Los Angeles Rams in the last three days. It hasn’t been legitimate football Womens Desmond King Jersey , with both teams giving it their all..." Latest NewsLos Angeles Chargers NewsChargers OffseasonNotes from Day 8 of Chargers training campNew,77commentsPDTSaturday evening marked the end of the Chargers’ second joint-practice with the Los Angeles Rams in the last three days. It hasn’t been legitimate football, with both teams giving it their all against the other in front of 70,000 people, but at least it’s been a break from Chargers v. Chargers. It’s been refreshing, with ups and downs across both practices for either team. As always, the magnificent beat writers across the Southern California scope have done a wonderful job of bringing the action of practice to the fans, far and wide. Here’s all the latest news from today’s practice, highlighted by The Athletic’s Daniel Popper and The OC Register’s Gilbert Manzano. It was the fourth-straight practice missed by free safety Jaylen Watkins, who is one of three defender vying for the starting safety spot opposite Derwin James. However Brandon Mebane Jersey , incumbent Rayshawn Jenkins definitely has the inside track on the other two as rookie Nair Adderley has also missed the last handful of practices.Tight end Virgil Green, offensive tackle Blake Camper, and LB Josh Corcoran were also non-participants today. Not a ton of practice was open to being recorded but they got the important stuff, a.k.a. Forrest Lamp doing literally anything. Here is one of his 1-on-1 reps against defensive tackle Tanzel Smart, a third-year defensive tackle from Tulane University. In the video. it’s encouraging to see him handle his business against the 6-foot-2, 331-pound defender, keeping Smart from getting within striking distance of the “quarterback”.Dan Feeney is still the starter and is still the first player at left guard when the team goes into 11-on-11 sessions. Obviously early, I expect the battle between Feeney and Lamp to continue all the way up to Week 1 against the Colts. Some fans have been asking about Pipkins and whether or not he has done much improving over the last few months. We all know he was selected with longevity in mind. He was never going to get a whiff of the starting lineup in his first year as a professional.Well, if this video is any indication, the team’s 2019 third-round pick out of Sioux Falls is still every bit of the project they apparently knew they were getting this past April. At first watch http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-michael-schofield-jersey , Pipkins gets a solid start off the line against his competition, outside linebacker Josh Carraway, a former undrafted free agent from TCU. However, it looks as if Pipkins was extremely skittish and couldn’t wait to get his hands on Carraway, leading to a premature punch which winds up leaving the tackle on his back by the end of the rep.Something tells me we won;t be seeing much of Pipkins once the real football begins in September. On a brighter note, Trent Scott, who looks to be the chosen one to man-down the left tackle spot in Russell Okung’s absence, had a better day than his teammate during the OL/DL 1v1’s. During the team’s first week of practice, Scott has looked slow and overpowered on most occasions. With not much to write home about, we should continue to cross all our fingers that Okung’s recovery time is not nearly as long as Ian Rapaport noted.Quarterback Tyrod Taylor has been one of the more exciting players to watch through training camp up to this point. He’s thrown a number of beautiful deep passes and has looked incredibly natural in the offense since he joined the Chargers.Saturday’s practice brought the veteran down to Earth as the former-Browns signal-caller was picked off twice in 11-on-11s. The first coming towards the beginning of the period. The team has been lucky up to this point having not sustained any major injuries stemming from training camp activities. There are some guys dealing with nagging tweaks and soreness but nothing too grave Womens Corey Liuget Jersey , at this point.Wide receiver Andre Patton limped off the field towards the end of practice and we didn’t get much word on the severity of his injury once the day was finished. It would almost be more surprising to not see one of these tweets over the last two days. The Rams have one of the most dangerous offenses in the league and will take their chunks just as much as they will give them up against an equally-intimidating Chargers attack.Casey Hayward is still good, by the way, so put down the pitchforks and relax if you started going in that direction.Revenge is pretty sweet. Thanks to Mike Davis, the Chargers’ secondary got back at the Rams’ offense when he jumped in front of a Jared Goff pass intended for wide receiver Josh Reynolds.Just 48 hours after making the play of the day when he corraled a diving catch along the sideline in Costa Mesa, Keenan Allen was up to his old tricks as he was seen sprawling out once more in hopes of bringing in another highlight-reel catch against the Rams’ defense.Oh hell yeah. This is the content we need.Old Man Rivers taking to the Rams with a rushing touchdown up the gut is the exact thing I needed on this Saturday night. If we get a Rivers rushing touchdown at any point during the 2019 season, I’ll be one magnificently happy dude.Won’t we all, actually.Taylor continued his rough day by throwing an interception on the final play of practice. The Rams got the final laugh this day but we. will. be back.In his post-practice presser, head coach Anthony Lynn noted that Keenan Allen is doing just fine after his tumble and he was seen by reporters with ice packs around his knees. Hunter Henry left practice early and watched from the sidelines after he told coaches he wasn’t feeling well. He was seen with an IV for the latter half of practice. The Chiefs will be giving Mexico City another shot in 2019.They were supposed to play the Rams at Estadio Azteca in 2018, but the game was moved to Los Angeles when the league decided to move the game due to the poor condition of the field in Mexico City. The league said they planned to return in 2019 and announced on Monday that the Chiefs and Chargers will play one of their two 2019 games on the other side of the border.Four other games will take place in London and the league announced those matchups as well. The Panthers will face the Buccaneers, the Bears will face the Raiders Dan Feeney Jersey , the Bengals will face the Rams and the Texans will tangle with the Jaguars. Dates, times and, in the case of the London game, sites have not been announced. Two U.K. games are expected to be played at Wembley Stadium and the other two are slated for Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium. Tottenham was supposed to host a game in 2018, but it was moved to Wembley because the new building wasn’t ready. The Bucs, Rams, Jaguars and Raiders will be designated as home teams in the London games while the Chargers will be the “home” team in Mexico City.

So what does that mean for their 2020 plans? According to MockingTheDraft.com’s Dan Kadar, it means adding more offensive firepower in the first round.Ruggs is fast, folks. And he’d be a great complement to Dede Westbrook and DJ Chark who have (hopefully) developed into legitimate receiving threats this season. What do you think? Would you like to see a wide receiver in the first round next season? Or do you foresee something else happening? Let us know in the comments below! The Jacksonville Jaguars trudged into the locker room one by one, and before coach Doug Marrone started to address the team, a few players chimed in.They were defensive guys. They were being positive, too. After a 9-6 loss to AFC South rival Tennessee in which Jacksonville’s offense was downright offensive Womens Marqise Lee Jersey , the Jaguars insisted there was no finger-pointing, back-biting or name-calling.“We came back in the locker room and guys expressed emotion,” said linebacker Telvin Smith, adding that a team with Super Bowl expectations was frustrated. “It’s not like guys got quiet. Nobody shied away from it. Things were said.”Several players said it was a constructive exchange designed to show support for quarterback Blake Bortles and an offense that has been less than impressive in two of three games this season.More Jacksonville Jaguars newsJaguars expect DE Yannick Ngakoue’s holdout to be short-livedJaguars rookie safety Zedrick Woods submits retirement paperworkJalen Ramsey says Jaguars don’t plan to give him contract extension this seasonJaguars sign former UCF running back Taj McGowan for added depthJaguars QB Nick Foles to miss OTAs for undisclosed ‘personal reason’“If you look at it, offensively and defensively and special teams, those guys really don’t have the type of guys we have in this locker room,” Jaguars safety Tashaun Gipson said. “It’s not like we felt like we were the king of the hill, but you’ve got to win the games you’ve got to win. … We know we’re the better team, but this Sunday they were the better team and they won.”Thanks mostly to Marcus Mariota, a punishing ground attack and a stifling defense.Mariota directed three scoring drives in relief of Blaine Gabbert Telvin Smith Jersey , including one in the fourth quarter with “heavy personnel,” and the Titans (2-1) won their third straight in the series.Tennessee improved to 2-0 against the AFC South and will host defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia on Sunday.“This is what we are, man,” Titans cornerback Logan Ryan said. “We have a good defense. We can run the ball. We do what Jacksonville does, but we do it better than them.”Jacksonville (2-1), which fell short in its attempt to start 3-0 for the first time since 2004, will wrap up a three-game homestand next week against the New York Jets.Tennessee finished with 233 yards, but grinded out 150 on the ground, played mistake-free football and let the defense do most of the heavy lifting.“We’re not afraid of anyone,” Titans left tackle Taylor Lewan said. “We’re going to play as if we belong anywhere. People will count us out http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-t.j.-yeldon-jersey , but that’s not the case.”The Jaguars have dropped five of six in the series and failed to score any offensive touchdown against the Titans for the second straight game. They crossed midfield just twice Sunday.“We killed ourselves,” Bortles said. “Stupid penalties, drops, missed throws. We’ve got to not hurt ourselves, especially the way our defense is and the way we play. We’ve got to score one touchdown to win the game. To go out there and score six points in four quarters, that’s bad as an offense.”Here are some other things we learned about the Titans and Jaguars:MARIOTA IMPROVINGMariota got a game ball for his gutsy performance. After sitting out last week’s victory against Houston because of an elbow injury sustained in the season opener, Mariota was forced onto the field in the first quarter to replace Gabbert (concussion).“He was fantastic,” first-year coach Mike Vrabel said. “He cares about this team immensely. He wants what’s best for this team. You saw him come in there, get us some first downs and give us a spark.”Mariota wore a partial glove on his injured right hand and did just enough to upset the Jaguars. He completed 12 of 18 passes for 100 yards and ran for 51 more, including a 15-yard gain on a third-and-1 play late that allowed the Titans to milk the clock.MISSING STARTERSThe Jaguars finished with 232 yards and 12 first downs while playing without running back Leonard Fournette Womens Ronnie Harrison Jersey , left tackle Cam Robinson and right guard A.J. Cann. Fournette missed his second straight game with a strained right hamstring. Robinson was lost for the season last week, and Cann sat out with a triceps injury.“It’s tough anytime you don’t have your guys out there,” Bortles said. “It is difficult when you are playing with guys that aren’t necessarily in the rotation all the time.”TURNING POINTMarrone’s decision to try a fake punt early in the game proved costly.Corey Grant was stopped on the fourth-and-4 play, giving Tennessee the ball near midfield and leading to Ryan Succop‘s first field goal.“I always regret decisions that don’t work,” Marrone said. “I just wanted to be aggressive early and had the look.”
would release kicker Cody Parkey after the first year of the four-year deal he signed with the team last year.In an appearance on NFL Network from the Scouting Combine in Indianapolis Gale Sayers Jersey , head coach Matt Nagy confirmed that Parkey is finished in Chicago. Parkey was 23-of-30 on field goals and 42-of-45 on extra points in his lone season with the Bears.“We’ve talked to Cody and Cody knows were going to go on in a different direction,” Nagy said. “It was a healthy talk Womens Walter Payton Jersey , he took it like a true professional. We wish him the best.”Parkey’s release will result in over $5 million in dead money on the Chicago cap if he’s a pre-June 1 cut and just over $4 million if he’s designated as a post-June 1 cut, but the team obviously feels that’s less painful than holding onto the kicker who double doinked a potential game-winning kick off the upright and crossbar in January’s playoff loss to the Eagles. The Bears have two more players heading to the Pro Bowl!"The NFC North Champion Chicago Bears just had two more players added to the Pro Bowl with left tackle Charles Leno Jr. and center Cody Whitehair getting the nod. The two offensive linemen are the second and third Bears to be named as replacements following quarterback Mitchell Trubisky’s addition yesterday. Five Bears were originally named as participants in the game with outside linebacker Khalil Mack http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-jim-mcmahon-jersey , corner Kyle Fuller, safety Eddie Jackson Tarik Cohen Jersey , defensive lineman Akiem Hicks, and return specialist Tarik Cohen all making the cut. Mack has since bowed out with a minor injury. Mark Konezny-USA TODAY SportsThis will be the first Pro Bowl for the 27-year old Leno and the 26-year old Whitehair Womens James Daniels Jersey , and also the first Pro Bowl for all his other Chicago teammates playing in the game. The experience of rubbing shoulders with the best of the best is something that will stay with these players when they return home and start to prepare for the 2019 season. The game will take place live from at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida on January 27 http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-aaron-lynch-jersey , at 2:00 p.m Central time.
attention It only took six plays for the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles to take a lead they would never give up against the New York Giants. More impressive was the throw that Carson Wentz made to put those points on the board.NFL Next Gen Stats tracks all types of interesting stats and have created fascinating new metrics; one of which is “Completion Probability” and it’s companion “Improbable Completions”.This play highlights the double edge sword we’re living with at quarterback. There are times where Wentz going to hold onto the ball longer than your average bear http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authenti...cher-cox-jersey , but the highlight reel plays that come with that make it all worth it.Wentz talked with the NFL Network crew about the throw after the game.“They dropped into Tampa 2, they had a good coverage on and down there we always talk about that’s when sometimes you just gotta improvise... They locked up the coverage and I know coach a lot of the time says to not throw across your body in the red zone but sometimes, especially when you got a guy like [Alshon Jeffery] that you can really trust back there Womens Jake Elliott Jersey , you can kinda take those chances sometimes.”The key word there is trust. Wentz trusts Jeffery to make a play which frees him up to make a typically ill-advised across his body throw in a key area of the field. With a few obvious exceptions, those tight window throws were something largely lacking from Wentz’s game this season. That was not the case on a special throw that got everybody buzzing.Jordan Matthews has a new jersey number in his second stint with the Eagles Jordan Matthews is back with the Philadelphia Eagles but not everything is completely once as it was before. Matthews is now wearing the Eagles’ No. 80 jersey instead of his old No. 81. Here’s some blurry photographic evidence:Looks weird.Matthews’ old No. 81 jersey is already being worn by Kamar Aiken, who re-signed with the team last week. Matthews wore No 80 during his relatively brief stint with the New England Patriots. Apparently it’s the number he wanted when he first joined the Eagles. I imagine that might have to do with him being related to Jerry Rice.Prior to joining the Pats Derek Barnett Jersey , JMatt was wearing No. 87 with the Buffalo Bills. That’s the same number he sported during his college days at Vanderbilt. No. 87 is currently available on the Eagles, but I can’t imagine we will be seeing someone wearing Brent Celek’s old number in the near future. Anyway, hopefully this very important information helps you more easily identify Matthews during the Eagles’ game against the Colts on Sunday. Sorry to those who wanted to break out their old JMatt jerseys for the game. I mean http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authenti...ld-darby-jersey , you can still do that, but they just won’t be as up to date.

EDTShareTweetShareShareReport: Eagles lose director of pro scouting to RaidersPhoto by Scott Taetsch/Getty ImagesThe Philadelphia Eagles are losing director of pro scouting Dwayne Joseph to the Raiders, according to a report from Neil Stratton of Inside The League. Joseph is “expected to fill the role of pro director” for the future Las Vegas franchise. Joseph was seemingly targeted by former Eagles preseason color analyst and current Raiders general manager Mike Mayock. Mayock was only hired by the Raiders earlier this year so he hasn’t had a chance to fully put his imprint on the team’s player personnel staff until now.Whereas coaching changes often occur immediately after the NFL season, scouting changes typically take place shortly after the NFL Draft each year.Losing Joseph, who originally joined Philadelphia’s front office four years ago, seems like a significant loss for the Eagles. Philly has made some really good pro personnel additions during Joseph’s tenure: Brandon Brooks, Chris Long, LeGarrette Blount, etc. The Eagles’ pro personnel department did a great job of finding three significant in-season additions last year in the form of Cre’Von LeBlanc, Treyvon Hester, and Jordan Matthews. Joseph might not be the only key executive the Eagles lose this offseason. It’s also been rumored that Joe Douglas could be joining the New York Jets.Ultimately, losing executives and assistant coaches is typically a good problem to have. It comes with the territory of being a successful organization like the Eagles have been. The challenge is to keep replenishing the talent Wilbert Montgomery Jersey , which goes to explain why the Eagles hired Andrew Berry earlier this offseason.Philadelphia will likely announce some official front office changes by the end of the month. The Eagles supposedly got a top-ten player on their board in the trade up and have universally gotten great reviews for the selection. Now, it doesn’t take a draftnik to be pleased with getting a top 10 player at pick 22, but let’s break down exactly why Andre Dillard was a great selection for the Eagles. 2015Dillard’s rookie season was fairly underwhelming overall. For starters, the rookie played just 195 offensive snaps. After red-shirting his freshman year to put on bulk, Dillard didn’t see any live action until week 11. He finished the year as the starter at LT for the last three weeks in a pass-happy offense. After putting up a phenomenal effort against Colorado, the rookie was abysmal in his final game of the year, allowing ks, a QB hit, and 6 additional QB hurries over 58 pass rushing snaps against Washington.2016In the following season, Dillard elevated his level of play significantly Womens Harold Carmichael Jersey , finishing the year as the 3rd highest-graded pass blocker (PFF) in the NCAA, behind the likes of Forrest Lamp and Orlando Brown, Jr. In his sophomore season Dillard finished the year with 7 allowed sacks, 4 allowed hurries and 14 allowed pressures. 2017After an excellent sophomore campaign, Dillard once again finished the season as one of the premier OTs in the country. With just 2 sacks allowed and 22 total pressures over a whopping 810 pass blocking snaps (most in the NCAA), Dillard once again finished up as one of the highest-graded pass-blockers in the country. 2018In his final collegiate season, Dillard again took his play to the next level. Over 748 snaps in protection (just one snap behind teammate Abraham Lucas), Dillard surrendered just 1 sack and 13 total pressures. Dillard, for the third year in a row, did this from the LT position. The Eagles got one of the, if not THE best pass-blocking left tackles in the NCAA over the past 3 years last night. Dillard graded out as a solid http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-randall-cunningham-jersey , but not spectacular, run-blocker in that span. Not many players selected in the 20s, if any, are going to be NFL ready in all assets of their game and Dillard certainly follows suit. The good news, however, is that Dillard is pro-ready as a pass blocker and more than capable of stepping in as soon as the Eagles need him at left tackle. Jason Peters is set to start what could be the final year of his Hall of Fame career at the ripe age of 37 years-old. With an arguably injury prone star young quarterback, there is nothing better than securing the safety of his blindside.
to pay a speeding ticket he got last year led to his arrest in Jacksonville on Thursday.According to a booking report from the Jackonville Sheriff’s Office Corey Grant Jersey , Fournette was arrested for knowingly driving on a suspended license along with the speeding violation. Per multiple reports, his license was suspended after he failed to pay a speeding ticket he received last November.Fournette was released on a $1,500 bond and the team issued a statement about the arrest.“The Jacksonville Jaguars are aware of the situation involving running back Leonard Fournette and are continuing to gather more information. No further comment will be provided at this time.”Fournette missed eight games in 2018 due to injury and a suspension for leaving the bench to join in a fight during a game against the Bills. That suspension led the team to void the remaining guarantees in his contract, although Fournette is challenging that decision. Thursday’s arrest could open the door to another round of discipline from the league under the Personal Conduct Policy. The Jacksonville Jaguars sacked offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett and quarterback Blake Bortles one day after the team’s seventh consecutive loss.Coach Doug Marrone fired Hackett and benched Bortles on Monday, making sweeping changes to one of the league’s worst offenses.“I felt I needed to make a change to get us an opportunity to win some games,” Marrone said. “It’s not a knee-jerk reaction. I really feel like at the end of the day we’ve got to try to get better production out of our passing game or more consistent production in our passing game.”Marrone promoted quarterbacks coach Scott Milanovich to offensive coordinator as well as backup quarterback Cody Kessler.Milanovich spent five seasons (2012-16) as head coach for the Canadian Football League’s Toronto Argonauts before landing in Jacksonville last year. Kessler lost all eight starts for Cleveland in 2016.More Jacksonville Jaguars newsJets’ Darnold throws 3 more picks in 29-15 loss at JaguarsRams get CB Jalen Ramsey from Jaguars for 3 draft picksBridgewater now 4-0 as starter after Saints top Jaguars 13-6Jaguars once elite defense struggles as Gardner Minshew, DJ Chark build chemistryLeonard Fournette runs for career-high as Jaguars mount comeback to beat BroncosMarrone expects Milanovich and Kessler to energize a lackluster offense when the Jaguars (3-8) host Indianapolis (6-5) on Sunday.“Hopefully he can stay healthy and win some games for us,” Marrone said. “My plan is for him to go in there and play.”Staying healthy could be a challenge for Kessler considering Jacksonville will be without three starting offensive linemen Womens Calais Campbell Jersey , including left guard Andrew Norwell (ankle) who was placed on injured reserve Monday. Norwell joins center Brandon Linder and left tackle Cam Robinson on IR.The Jags also could be without their offensive centerpiece if the NFL suspends running back Leonard Fournette for leaving the sideline and provoking a fight in a 24-21 loss at Buffalo.Marrone refused to make excuses for the offensive struggles.Bortles didn’t throw for 150 yards in four of the last six games. He had 104 yards through the air against Pittsburgh two weeks ago and 127 yards against the Bills. Marrone benched Bortles twice in two years, only to give him the job back both times. Now, though, it seems Bortles could be done in Jacksonville.Finances might be the only reason he sticks around. The fifth-year starter signed a three-year, $54 million contract in February and is due to count $21 million against the salary cap in 2019. Cutting him would cost Jacksonville $16.5 million against the cap.But it’s clear Marrone has lost faith in Bortles, who regressed this season.Marrone felt Hackett should have done more, too. Marrone and Hackett had been together for nine years, including stops at Syracuse (2010-12) http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-dede-westbrook-jersey , with the Bills (2013-14) and in Jacksonville (2015-18).Hackett ended up being the first scapegoat in Jacksonville’s ultra-disappointing season. He failed to get Bortles and the offense to play anywhere close to the level they did early in the season or in 2017. Injuries have been the biggest issue, but not enough to save Hackett’s job.“Obviously, you feel terrible, especially as an offensive player,” center Tyler Shatley said. “I feel like a lot of that’s on us. He had great game plans and stuff; we just have to execute better.”The Jaguars rank 22nd in the NFL in total offense, averaging 346.5 yards a game, but have been on a steady decline the last two months. They rank 29th in points, averaging a paltry 17.9 a game.Bortles’ lack of production has been the primary problem. He has 13 touchdown passes and 10 interceptions this season Jalen Ramsey Jersey , incapable of putting the offense on his shoulders when things go wrong around him.He also has been hamstrung, most notably by a lack of playmakers and numerous injuries. Jacksonville is without three left tackles, two tight ends, the team’s leading receiver from 2017, the team’s starting center and played six games without Fournette.“It sucks that somebody had to get let go,” defensive tackle Malik Jackson said. “I thought he was doing a wonderful job. But it’s the nature of the business. We need to start winning or we all need to look in the mirror about who can let go. It sucks.”Marrone could have made other changes. The defense looks little like it did in 2017, prompting some to question coordinator Todd Wash’s future, and special teams have been a non-factor all year. But Marrone opted to address the offense.“Any time you’re losing Womens Brandon Linder Jersey , it’s not just on one person,” Marrone said. “It’s on everyone, and obviously when I say that I understand and take responsibility for that. It starts with me as the head coach. … Obviously none of us are doing a good enough job right now. We have an opportunity to play five games and get back on track and break this losing streak.”
has interviews for the head coaching vacancies in Denver and Miami slated for Monday http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-allen-robinson-jersey , but he said Thursday that those meetings aren’t taking up much space in his head.Fangio told reporters that he’s done “zero” to prepare for those interviews because he’s focused on facing the Eagles on Sunday afternoon.“Maybe that’s why I’m here,” Fangio said, via the . “I don’t know. I have enough on my plate coaching these guys and the other things than … [I’ll] deal with it as they come up.”Head coach Matt Nagy was in a similar position to Fangio at this time last year and said that it’s not easy to keep your focus on the team “because you’re talking about a big-time opportunity.” Nagy added that he’d thought about his interview plans “months, or a year, or years prior” to actually sitting down with teams and that approach obviously worked out for him.Fangio didn’t say if he’s done such work in the past, but he’s interviewed for plenty of jobs over 30-plus years as a football coach so however he’s handled these situations has worked out for him in the past. LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) — The Chicago Bears have a rare opportunity to beat the Detroit Lions and pick up a victory over an NFC North opponent. As accomplishments go, those seem rather modest. Then again, consider their recent history. The division-leading Bears have a chance to check off two more boxes when they host the struggling Lions on Sunday. They have lost nine of the past 10 games against Detroit and have dropped 10 in a row to division opponents heading into their matchup at Soldier Field.Since the start of the 2014 season Womens Chase Daniel Jersey , Chicago is 4-21 against the NFC North. But these Bears aren’t those Bears.Chicago (5-3) hit the halfway mark with its best record in five years and sole possession of the NFC North lead for the first time since 2013. It’s a big change for a franchise with four straight last-place finishes. But the Bears have already matched their win total from last year and are making a push for their first playoff appearance since the 2010 team advanced to the NFC championship game.“There’s just so much ball left,” said coach Matt Nagy, in his first season. “For our team, we’ve won in different ways and we’ve lost in different ways. I think we’ve kind of learned different ways to do it. And when you lose, you try to figure out why and how to not let it happen again. When you win, you figure out why and how you can always improve and be better. I like where we’re at, but we understand we have a ways to go.”Chicago is coming off back-to-back wins over two struggling teams, with a 41-9 blowout at Buffalo after beating the New York Jets at home.Detroit (3-5) has dropped two in a row and last week’s 24-9 loss at Minnesota was particularly ugly. Matthew Stafford got sacked 10 times, and the Lions were held to single digits in points for the first time since a 17-6 loss to the New York Giants on Dec. 18 Bennie Fowler III Jersey , 2016.They also traded wide receiver Golden Tate to Philadelphia prior to the Vikings game, and they fired special teams coordinator Joe Marciano on Monday night.“Definitely have to learn from some of those things that we’ve done in the past that haven’t been up to par or haven’t been good enough, and try to minimize those or eliminate them as we go forward,” coach Matt Patricia said. “That’s the most important thing.”Here are some things to know about the matchup:ON THE MENDThe Bears might get star outside linebacker Khalil Mack (ankle) and top receiver Allen Robinson (groin) back from injuries. Both players missed the past two games. But they went through full practices on Wednesday. Tight end Adam Shaheen might also return from a foot injury he suffered in the preseason.ANSAH BACKThe Lions got a boost last week with the return of defensive end Ziggy Ansah. He had a sack in the second quarter that forced the Vikings to settle for a field goal, after missing six games because of a shoulder injury. Having Ansah back means more pressure on the quarterback and maybe better luck stopping the run. The Lions rank 30th in that area.“We’ve just got to set an edge and whoever has got a gap to be in, they’ve just got to be in there,” Ansah said. “Just play fundamental and be able to execute.”FAMILIAR FOESThe Bears are about to meet the Lions twice in a 12-day span, with a Thanksgiving matchup at Ford Field and a primetime Sunday game against Minnesota at home in between. This three-game run facing the NFC North comes after four in row against the AFC East. Chicago hasn’t played a division team since a 24-23 season-opening loss at Green Bay, when it blew a 20-point lead against an injured Aaron Rodgers.STRUGGLING STAFFORDAfter a solid stretch http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-taylor-gabriel-jersey , Stafford has struggled a bit the past two weeks with 13 sacks and a 90.3 rating. He had ratings above 100 in each of the previous five games.“He’s been with the Lions for all of his career and he has a great group of receivers, and for some reason they’re not putting games together,” Bears cornerback Prince Amukamara said. “But they’re still a great team and I know for a fact we won’t take them lightly.”GETTING OFFENSIVEWhile a defense that ranks fifth overall has gotten much of the credit, the Bears insist their offense is doing its part.Though Trubisky has been wild at times, his rating (96.1) is similar to Stafford’s (96.5). Chicago also ranks fifth in the NFL in scoring.

Latest NewsLos Angeles Chargers NewsChargers OffseasonNotes from Day 1 of Chargers training campNew,9commentsPDTToday was about as refreshing of a day then I can remember due to...well...Football is back, baby! The first day of training is always incredibly exciting. Fans have that type of anticipation that makes them go nuts over the least relevant things.“Holy cow, our sixth wide receiver just snagged 33-yard pass from our third-string quarterback on the 59th play of the day? Oh he’s about to SNAP!”I live for that type of stuff this early in camp. When the smallest actions can mean so much to fans, it makes this next month just fly by.With that being said, here is a compilation of tweets/notes from the first day of training camp to get you all caught up on some of the events from today’s first practice. The first team defense was as expected today. Not much here of note other than seeing Michael Davis as the cornerback opposite Casey Hayward. Anthony Lynn noted last month that Trevor Williams looks like his 2017 self and I fully expected to see Williams start TC as CB2. However, that battle has a long way to go before week 1.As we all feared, we will be subjected to watching Sam Tevi and Trent Scott as the team’s starting offensive tackles during the preseason while Russell Okung tends to his recent health scare. It’s nice to see that Austin Ekeler and Justin Jackson both enjoyed solid outings on the day. After starting three games prior to his season-ending injury, Kyzir White should be in the running to earn a starting job, or at least some decent playing time Womens Kyzir White Jersey , in training camp should Jatavis Brown or Uchenna Nwosu underwhelm. He had a good day, working with both the first and second team defenses. It’s always encouraging to hear the new guys making an impression from the get-go. Davis still has some some juice left in him and the defense is going to count on that. Davis competing against Williams and Allen for another training camp should keep in tip-top shape.Although there aren’t any expectations for Easton Stick in his first professional season,it’s still fun to see him making plays and being aggressive with the ball. While he has nothing to lose, knowing that the team won’t get rid of him based on his draft position, this is the time to experiment and shoot for the moon while he can.Man, it feels spectacular to hear Henry’s name attached to a big play on the day. Remember, he wasn’t here for this stuff last year, so it’s been well over a year since we got this type of content about the tight end. I’ll take another shot of that good stuff, please.Trey Pipkins is another guy that doesn’t have a ton of expectations other than the fact the team spent their 2019 third-round pick on him. With Okung out, he is going to get increased reps which Virgil Green Jersey , hopefully, is a blessing in disguise for his develoment.Oh yes, here is the content I was waiting for all day. Lamp spent most of the first practice with the second-team offense at left guard. He did mix in with the first team at left guard while Dan Feeney got some reps at center. After practice, Lynn mentioned that, prior to the Mike Pouncey signing in 2018, Feeney was set to be the team’s starting center. That means, if Pouncey was never signed, we could be looking at Forrest Lamp already the team’s starting left guard...But, alas.Anyways, I’ll be stuck to my laptop all day tomorrow http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-mike-pouncey-jersey , covering the second day of training camp so check back for all the goods! Chargers coach Anthony Lynn told reporters that center Mike Pouncey was definitely out the rest of this year, and that anything beyond this year was unknown.According to Daniel Popper of TheAthletic.com, Lynn said Pouncey was having season-ending surgery to repair a neck problem, and that he didn’t know if the issue might be career-threatening.The 30-year-old Pouncey was placed on injured reserve earlier today. That news is crushing for the Chargers, who have already endured so many major injuries this year. They’ve lost safeties Derwin Gray and Adrian Phillips to IR, left tackle Russell Okung to the non-football illness list, and are dealing with a number of other injured contributors including defensive end Melvin Ingram and kicker Michael Badgley. In the one bit of good news, Lynn said that tight end Hunter Henry would begin practicing on a limited basis as he returns from a tibial plateau fracture.
was last a head coach in 2015 http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-melvin-gordon-jersey , but his alma mater is interested in bringing him home to replace Paul Johnson.Johnson announced his retirement from Georgia Tech on Wednesday.Adam Rittenberg of ESPN reports that Whisenhunt is “a top candidate” to replace Johnson.Whisenhunt, 56, started his college career as a quarterback at Georgia Tech before switching to tight end. He played there from 1980-84, making 82 catches for 1,264 yards and seven touchdowns. He received his first chance as an offensive coordinator with the Steelers in 2004 and parlayed that into his first head coaching job. From 2007 to 2012 with the Cardinals, Whisenhunt went 45-51 Philip Rivers Jersey , with two playoff berths and a Super Bowl appearance.Whisenhunt was the Chargers’ offensive coordinator in 2013 before the Titans hired him as their head coach. He went 3-20 before Tennessee fired him in the middle of the 2015 season.Whisenhunt returned to the Chargers as offensive coordinator in 2016.The Chargers currently rank sixth in yards and seventh in points, with quarterback Philip Rivers an MVP candidate.Whisenhunt’s only college coaching experience came as an assistant at Vanderbilt in 1995-96. When Philip Rivers made his first NFL start in 2006, Matthew Stafford was just starting his freshman year at Georgia.Rivers has never missed a start since stepping on the field for the Chargers on that September afternoon and, barring an anvil falling on his head, he’ll make his 210th straight start against the Lions this weekend. That will tie Eli Manning, who was traded for Rivers on draft day in 2004 Womens Kellen Winslow Jersey , for the second longest streak by a quarterback in NFL history.Stafford knows a thing or two about showing up every week as he’ll be making his 130th straight start this weekend and that leaves him as a member of the Philip Rivers fan club.“I got a lot of respect for him as a player,” Stafford said, via the . “He’s a great quarterback, does a great job, I think underappreciated in a lot of aspects. And obviously like you said, the guy shows up for his team every week. Played in the AFC championship game with a torn ACL http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-lance-alworth-jersey , which is incredible. I’m sure has played through a million other things that nobody knows about, too. Got to give him a lot of credit. Guy’s there, week in and week out and he’s playing at a high level. It’s impressive.”Rivers’s appreciation level would rise if he could find his way to a Super Bowl. Stafford and the Lions would like to put a bump in that road by beating the Chargers in Detroit this Sunday.
"Hey http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-wes-hopkins-jersey , remember the 2019 NFL Draft? Feels like it was just last week. But that hasn’t stopped media outlets from putting out NFL mock drafts for next year because ... #content. Earlier this week, we looked at SB Nation’s 2020 first round pick for the Eagles. Now it’s time for Todd McShay’s turn (via ESPN In$ider):It’s funny that McShay already has a cornerback going to the Eagles because he mistakenly kept linking that position to Philly leading up to this year’s draft. It was clear they weren’t going to draft one early and they ended up not drafting one at all. Truly shocking! In fairness to McShay, corner might be a more realistic pick next year. Jalen Mills, Ronald Darby, and Cre’Von LeBlanc are all set to be free agents after this season. Rasul Douglas and the oft-injured Sidney Jones (RFA) will be entering the final year of their contracts in 2020. But there’s just so much that can change between now and next year. To give you an idea of just how useful or useless this activity is, here’s what McShay’s 2019 mock draft looked like at this time last year:McShay did correctly have 13 of these 32 players going in the first round. Only one of those players got drafted at their projected position (Bosa at No. 2). One of the most interesting parts about McShay’s mock has nothing to do with the players selected. Rather, it’s about the order the picks occur. McShay bases his mock draft order off early 2019 record projections from Football Outsiders. FO will publicize these projections later this offseason but for now we know they have seven teams ahead of Philly: the Kansas City Chiefs, the Green Bay Packers Wilbert Montgomery Jersey , the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Los Angeles Rams, the New England Patriots, the Los Angeles Chargers, and the New Orleans Saints. FO’s projections also have Washington at No. 4, the New York Giants at No. 8, and the Dallas Cowboys at No. 24. It’s an old refrain from old folks: Back in my day, life wasn’t so easy. It’s a refrain that NFL veterans often tell their younger teammates at this time of year. That’s particularly true for the players who have been in the league since before 2011 Womens Harold Carmichael Jersey , when the new Collective Bargaining Agreement put limits on practice time and the number of full-contact practices. The Eagles have five such players, and Jeff McLane of the talked to them about how much different training camp was in those days.“I joke around with these young dudes nowadays,” wide receiver DeSean Jackson said. “I say they’re soft. They’re making them soft.”Eagles running back Darren Sproles played his first two seasons with the Chargers under coach Marty Schottenheimer, who was known for running some of the toughest training camps around — tougher than any NFL coach today runs. Schottenheimer would keep the players on the practice field as late as he wanted, until he was satisfied that they had worked hard enough.“Back then we had real two-a-days and it didn’t matter the time,” Sproles said.Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham, who has been with the team since 2010, said coach Doug Pederson pushes them hard in camp without pushing them so hard that they get injured http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-randall-cunningham-jersey , as coaches of the past used to do.“If I’m going to give max effort every time, I need to know you’re going to take care of me down the down. And I think Doug does a good job of that,” Graham said. “You can still get a lot out of your team without the two practices. Sometimes I’d feel like, ‘Boy, you’d be so damn tired that after a while you’re going to hurt something.’”Today’s younger players may think they’re tired after a hot summer practice, but they don’t know what those camps of old were like.
to boost their offensive production in 2019 and part of any improvement will come with the assistance of the players tasked with catching his passes. One member of that group is 2018 second-round pick DJ Chark. The wideout caught 14 passes for 174 yards in 11 games as a rookie http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-keelan-cole-jersey , but wide receivers coach Keenan McCardell said he’s seen signs that Chark is putting it all together.McCardell said he “can tell [Chark] really understands what’s going on with our offenses” after going through the offseason program and Chark also sounded positive about where things are headed this year.“I just like the fact that the offense is very diverse with a lot of different options that everybody can just rotate,” Chark said, via John Reid of Jacksonville.com. “As long as you know what you’re doing and Nick getting a good understanding of us and the coaches putting use in position to run routes to our strength, I think that’s going to be big.”Keelan Cole, Chris Conley and Dede Westbrook joined Chark for the entire offseason program while Marqise Lee continued to work his way back from a torn ACL. Terrelle Pryor joined the group later in the offseason and will be part of the competition for snaps during camp. Blake Bortles was largely ineffective despite a career-high 430 yards passing against Kansas City. His offensive line was the biggest problem. The Jacksonville Jaguars failed to give Bortles enough time or protection in a 30-14 loss at the Chiefs on Sunday. Bortles was sacked five times Corey Grant Jersey , fumbling once, and hurried way more often.According to Pro Football Focus, Jacksonville’s line allowed 24 total quarterback pressures — seven more than any other NFL team in Week 5.“We take an immense amount of pride in our work,” backup left tackle Josh Walker said Monday. “That’s going to be the goal of our group this week: to be more determined to be better and do a better job in protecting Blake. We’ve got to keep him clean. That’s our job and that’s what we’re going to do.“We’re fine. We’re not worried about things. We’re going to fix things.”The Jaguars (3-2) might have to make some roster changes to find help.Left tackle Josh Wells has a groin injury that could cause him to miss Sunday’s game at Dallas (2-3), and tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins is headed to injured reserve and will have core muscle surgery.Coach Doug Marrone said Wells is “week to week” and Seferian-Jenkins is expected to return later in the year.Running back Corey Grant (foot) also is done for the season Womens Calais Campbell Jersey , joining Leonard Fournette on the sideline. Fournette is expected to miss his fourth game of the season because of a sprained right hamstring. The Jaguars are planning to sign a running back and likely will do the same at left tackle.“When you add and you’re missing some key players, you have to play to the strengths of what they can do,” Marrone said. “It is a challenge for us, but there are teams that go through those same challenges. It’s going to be on us as coaches to do a good job of putting in the right plays, going to the right people and being able to go and execute it.”The O-line was Jacksonville’s weak link last year http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-dede-westbrook-jersey , failing to create holes for Fournette in the second half of the season. The Jags thought signing All-Pro left guard Andrew Norwell to a five-year, $66.5 million contract in free agency would solidify the front. But Norwell has been average, at best, while playing alongside three different left tackles: Cam Robinson, Wells and Walker. Robinson is out for the season with a knee injury.“We need to trust in each other Jalen Ramsey Jersey ,” Wells said. “The expectation level is still going to remain high. We need to put our head down and go back to work.”The Jaguars essentially abandoned the running game after falling behind 20-0 late in the second quarter. That put a lot of pressure on Bortles and even more stress on the line, which really struggled against speedy linebacker Dee Ford.Bortles completed 33 of 61 passes, with one touchdown and four interceptions.“Everyone is in a tough situation,” Marrone said. “You turn around the next day (and) you want to run the football. Looking back, maybe we started throwing it a little too early. Maybe we just were pressing too much early. … You’re always going to look at that and you’re not going to sit here and say that Womens Brandon Linder Jersey , ‘Hey, we’re a team that wants to throw the ball 60-something times.'”___
has been made official Womens Walter Payton Jersey , and we’ve all had some time to dissect the path the Bears will need to travel to repeat as NFC North champs, I wanted to share my..."Now that the Chicago Bears 2019 schedule has been made official, and we’ve all had some time to dissect the path the Bears will need to travel to repeat as NFC North champs, I wanted to share my top 10 takeaways. I won’t give a season record prediction yet, a few of us at WCG will break the schedule down in four quarters in the near future, but these are just some of my general thoughts on how it all lays out. 1) With this being the 100th anniversary of both the NFL and the Bears, the Thursday night season opener is going to have a playoff atmosphere. Last year the Bears nearly spoiled the 100th anniversary of the Green Bay Packers, but the moment seemed to be too big for that Bears team, and they allowed 21 fourth quarter points and lost 24-23. That experience, plus the narrow playoff loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, will give the Bears the edge they need to ensure they can match the moment on September 5th http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-jim-mcmahon-jersey , 2019. Last year we saw a Bears team that was prepared for the emotional rush they’d get by being the visiting team on such a momentous occasion, so this year they’ll be able to replicate that, but be able to maintain it throughout 60 minutes for the win.2) Playing in Denver early in the season is usually a recipe for disaster. But with the Bears playing the Thursday prior, that might give them the extra prep time they need to game-plan against Vic Fangio. Also, I think it would be wise for them to head out to Denver a few days early to help the team get acclimated to the altitude. This will be a good early season test for Mitchell Trubisky and the Bears’ offense. 3) The Bears have 5 Prime Time games, plus two more for now (Week 4 and Thanksgiving) that will be considered national games, as well as the London trip, so the Bears won’t play at their usual noon time until week 8 against the Chargers. In fact, only six of their games will be at noon, but that’s what happens to good teams. If we expect the Bears to have sustained success, then we should get used to their schedule being all over the place. 4) Speaking of that London game Tarik Cohen Jersey , even though the Raiders are the designated home team,Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will feel like a home game for Chicago. The Bears have been a popular team in the UK ever since they played in London’s Wembley Stadium in 1986, which came just three years after they started to air NFL games on British TV. The Bears were one of the best teams in the NFL in the mid-80s, and they gained plenty of fans at that time. 5) Weeks 7-9 is one of the toughest stretches of football that any team will face in the NFL this season. Saints, Chargers, then the Eagles are three Super Bowl contenders and we’ll learn a lot about the Bears in this stretch. 6) The week 11 Sunday Nighter in L.A. against the Rams comes at a time in the schedule where the contenders start to separate from the pretenders. A big win on the road by the Bears could boost their national exposure even more and really ramp up Super Bowl talk. 7) As a fan, I don’t like the Bears taking on the Chiefs so late in the season (week 16). There’s a good chance one, if not both, of these teams will have a postseason spot locked up, so they could be resting or coasting. A mid-year match-up could have been electric.8) The double Thursday dip vs. the Lions (Thanksgiving in Detroit) followed up with the Cowboys in Chicago is an interesting scheduling quirk that will get the Bears some extra prep time for the Packers (week 15).9) I’m so sick of hearing about the Bears playing a “first place schedule.” Every division plays 14 similar games, with only 2 games being determined by the previous season’s standings. Plus with the way teams fluctuate on a year to year basis Womens James Daniels Jersey , who’s to say that the 2 first place games the Bears are playing this year (Saints and Rams) won’t have a down year in 2019? At some point the 40-year old Drew Brees will slow down, and the Rams could be in for the classic Super Bowl hangover. 10) On a related topic, can people stop giving a shit about strength of schedule? It’s meaningless. The Bears’ strength of schedule before the 2018 season was .520, and before the 2019 season it’s an identical .520. The Bears went 12-4 vs. that tough .520 schedule a year ago, but before the season plenty of fans were concerned. I think more time should be spent looking at travel miles and rest differential. Travel miles is how often teams spend travelling to away games, and rest differential is explained by ESPN’s Brian Burke in this Twitter thread.International games will skew the travel miles for teams playing those games, but the immediate bye week is meant to help alleviate some of that jet-lag.The Bears only have one short week and that comes before Thanksgiving, but the Lions are also playing on a short week. The governor of Illinois is expected to sign legislation that will legalize sports betting in the state, including at Soldier Field, home of the Bears.Soldier Field is one of seven venues in Illinois that would be eligible for sports betting licenses, according to Joe Ostrowski of 670 The Score. Other venues eligible for sports betting licenses include the homes of the Chicago Cubs http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-aaron-lynch-jersey , White Sox, Bulls and Blackhawks.A few years ago, the idea that the NFL would allow legal gambling at NFL games would have been unthinkable, but that’s no longer the case. The NFL has ceased its knee-jerk opposition to gambling, embraced Las Vegas as the future home of one of its franchises, and generally begun to recognize that betting on football is good for the popularity of the sport.Actual betting windows right there at the stadium during an NFL game may go beyond even what the NFL’s recent about-face on gambling has envisioned, but if it enhances interest in the sport, it’s hard to see the NFL raising any serious objections.
Get called Little."As we roll into February Joey Bosa Jersey , draft season is in full swing with the NFL Combine in Indianapolis just a few weeks away. The Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama has come and gone, as well, with new names rising up draft boards while others may be finding themselves falling or staying a bit too stagnant for their liking. Here at Bolts From The Blue, we are chomping at the bit to get the gears turning on our own draft coverage where we hope to bring you the content you deserve and the content you yearn for while maintaining the tightest coverage on what the Bolts are doing through the months leading up to the 2019 NFL Draft in Nashville, TN.To satifsy some of your smaller cravings for draft content, I hope to put out a number of short-and-sweet draft profiles to get you all up to date on draft prospects you should be aware of that could potentially don the bolt this year and for years to come.First up is Ole Miss’ Greg Little, a massive offensive tackle that could be the answer to the team’s needs at the right tackle spot opposite Russell Okung. At 6-foot-6 and 325 pounds Womens Austin Ekeler Jersey , no one needs to ask what position Little is best suited for. It still amuses me that we get to right about such a large player with the such an oxymoron for a last name. The former 5-star recruit and top-ranked offensive line recruit in the country came to Oxford, Mississippi by way of Allen High School, the perennial powerhouse down in the heart of Texas. He was also the number two recruit in the entire country by Scout and ESPN.As a true freshmen, Little played in every game during his first year on campus with five starts. That year, the Rebels possessed the 13th-ranked passing offense in the country (314.9 yds/game) and allowed the fewest tackles-for-loss per game (4.67). For his efforts, he was named a Freshman All-American by Rivals.com and a Freshman All-SEC first team selection. In his sophomore campaign, Little started all 12 games at left tackles and was named a second-team All-SEC selection by the AP and the Coaches. Prior to the season, NFL.com named him the 31st-best player in college football. In 2018 http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-melvin-gordon-jersey , after being placed on numerous preseason All-American teams, Little helped protect senior quarterback Jordan Ta’amu as he got to chuck the ball around to the best wide receiver trio in the country.Little lived up to almost all of his preseason hype as he was named a first-team All-Sec selection and a second-team All-American pick by numerous publications, including the FWAA, CBS Sports, and Phil Steele. The former top prospect was definitely a work-in-progress and it showed during his first two years at Ole Miss. No matter his shortcomings, Little’s God-given physical talents are the types of things you cannot coach. When you throw on the tape, your first thought is, “a man that large shouldn’t be able to move like that.” His fundamentals Philip Rivers Jersey , footwork, hand-technique, it was all sushi-raw in the beginning. But thankfully, he took the biggest, and most necessary leap with his technique between the 2017 and 2018 seasons. In my opinion, he has always known that his capabilities are above those around him, but it looked like he finally realized how to utilize his elite tools in his true junior season. His strong powerful hands are much more refined and are able to find his mark on the defender’s breastplate at a much higher rate. The power behind his palms is something to be seen, too. He looks like he salivates at the chance to down block interior linemen with the way he shoots off that line and into the ear hole of the pour soul. His combination of size and athleticism seems like a natural fit in the Chargers offense. His movement skills make him an easy fit in the multiple-run scheme that Lynn loves to use while giving the Chargers a looming presence with enough agility to handle some of the elite edge rushers that call the AFC West home. While looking around at a number of mock drafts Womens Kellen Winslow Jersey , there is a real chance that Little finds himself available at the end of the first round. With Alabama’s Jonah Williams, Florida’s Jawaan Taylor, and Oklahoma’s Cody Ford gaining some steam at this point of the off-season, and the plethora of defensive linemen aiming to go early on day one, Little could easily fall to the Chargers as an afterthought to the rest of the league. Los Angeles Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa did not practice Thursday, leaving his status for the opener against Kansas City in doubt.Bosa was not in pads during the early portion of practice that is open to reporters after being listed as limited on Wednesday's practice report. The third-year player did not play in the preseason after he injured his left foot on Aug. 7Coach Anthony Lynn did not sound optimistic about Bosa's status, but said it's possible he could still play."He'll be ready when he's ready," Lynn said. "Foot injuries take on all the body weight. That can be tricky and something you don't want to rush. You want to make sure that's right before a player comes back."Bosa has never missed a game because of injury since being selected with the third overall pick in the 2016 draft. He has 23 career sacks in two seasons http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-lance-alworth-jersey , including an NFL-record 19 in his first 20 games. If Bosa can't play, second-year player Isaac Rochell would be in line for his first NFL start. It would also leave the Chargers without two starters on their defensive line. Defensive tackle Corey Liuget is serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing drugs."Rochell has done a nice job for us. He got a lot of reps in the preseason and we're pretty high where he's at," defensive coordinator Gus Bradley said. "I think that as a defense we feel pretty strongly about the guys that we have in place. I know there are a lot of times in preseason our second group played well."
