Turns out that Ogunjobi could have a side career as a weight-loss specialist.Ogunjobi was featured last week in an article in Men’s Health magazine where he detailed his transformation from a 350-pound ninth grader to a starter on the most-talked about NFL team in 2019.It all started after Ogunjobi’s parents hired Robert Mitchell, a weight loss coach, to work with Ogunjobi. After losing 20 pounds, Mitchell decided that the next step would be for Ogunjobi to take up football. With his parents’ blessing - but against his own objections, Ogunjobi joined the junior varsity team. Even though he was forced to play noseguard from a two-point stance because he couldn’t bend over https://www.brownsfanshop.com/Seth-Devalve-Jersey , Ogunjobi played well enough to earn a most improved player award at the end of the season. That gave Ogunjobi the confidence to take his fitness seriously and see where football could take him, as he explains in the article:The rest of the story is well known to Browns fans. Ogunjobi played college ball at UNC-Charlotte, where he set school records for school records sacks, tackles for loss and tackles - before becoming one of the best draft picks in recent Browns history. Along the way, Ogunjobi has stayed serious about his fitness and works to ensure he does not have any relapses:It is a great story and another example of how Ogunjobi is a Browns player who is easy to root for. The Browns didn’t have a first-round pick Kevin Zeitler Jersey , having traded it to the Giants as part of the Odell Beckham trade. They tried, though, to get in on the action Thursday night.Browns General Manager John Dorsey said he had three players he coveted.“There were about three guys we were looking at we thought may help us, you know to get up to the position where they were acquired at that time, I thought the compensation was too rich to move that far Joel Bitonio Color Rush Jersey ,’’ Dorsey said, via Mary Kay Cabot of the . “We’re in a position now, you know maybe you exercise a degree of patience in this and just see and we’ll start working tomorrow and we’re always going to work at this thing to see if we can get up there, but the compensation package was just too much for us as an organization.”Dorsey declined to name the three players, but one is believed to be Mississippi State defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons based on Dorsey’s effusive pre-draft praise of Simmons https://www.brownsfanshop.com/Terrance-Mitchell-Jersey , according to Cabot. In the end, the Browns had an uneventful night.“I’m very happy to have Odell Beckham as the 17th pick in the 2019 draft,’’ Dorsey said. The Browns have the 49th overall pick, the first of eight choices in the 2019 draft.
For about a decade Jason Spriggs Jersey , the thought of the Green Bay Packers playing in Dallas sent shivers up the spines of Cheeseheads everywhere. Texas Stadium was a house of horrors for the 1990s Packers, as many a playoff run ended in disappointment under the half-exposed roof in Irving, Texas. But since the Cowboys moved into AT&T Stadium, things have been different. The Packers have played four games in the new facility, which opened for the 2009 season, and have been victorious in all four. Each was a truly memorable game, too. The franchise’s first game in the building was its victory in Super Bowl XLV, a 31-25 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. The three games against the Cowboys have all been thrilling victories with the winning score coming in the final two minutes of the game, including a Divisional Playoff win following the 2016 campaign. If the Packers plan to improve to 4-1 on the young 2019 season, they will need to overcome about a field-goal advantage towards the Cowboys based on Vegas’ point spread. For fans across the US, there’s good news. After missing out on defensive tackle Ed Oliver and tight end T.J. Hockenson by a few picks, Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst let the 10-minute clock run down for quite a while before turning in a card with the name “Rashan Gary” on it.Gary, an edge rusher from Michigan, was hardly what most Packers fans were hoping for, particularly with Brian Burns and Montez Sweat still on the board. Those two players had much more consistent production in terms of sacks and tackles for loss than Gary, who had just 9.5 and 23, respectively, in his collegiate career. However, Gutekunst and Packers college scout Joe Hueber made it clear that Gary was not a knee-jerk pick that came as a result of the board falling differently than they had hoped. Not only did the Packers rate Gary highly on their draft board — he was in fact one of their highest priorities. “Locked in” is the phrase that Gutekunst used when speaking to the media late Thursday evening, using that to describe him being focused on acquiring Gary since all the way back in February — presumably around the time of the 2019 NFL Combine. As for the production questions https://www.thepackersfanshop.com/Jamaal-Williams-Jersey , Gutekunst clearly is not concerned. “Production is just the way you look at it,” he said. “He affected the passer, he affected the game. At times he wrecked it.” That’s a good sign for a player whose primary purpose will be to disrupt the quarterback, at least as a rookie, and the personnel department clearly feels that there are reasons why his impact on games did not appear in the stat sheet.College scout Jue Hueber may have said it best: “He commanded a lot of attention at Michigan: double-teams, triple-teams, taking on the tight end. Really, you saw it in some of his teammates, they got freed up and they were able to get the production.” The plays that Gary put on tape were far more important than the numbers he put in the box score to the team. “When you watch him, he was all over the place, taking on these blocks and getting a lot of pressure too.”As a 6-foot-4-plus, 275-pound player, Gary would seem a bit big to be a conventional 3-4 outside linebacker, but Hueber confirmed that’s the position group he will start with when he shows up for work. Still, expect to see him lined up in a number of different places. “He’s a guy because of his size and speed and versatility, that you’d hope you can move him around the front Dean Lowry Jersey ,” Hueber said. “He’s done some stand-up stuff already. He’s a guy who’s had to play multiple positions and move around. Probably needs to learn some of the drop stuff but I think as far as rushing the passer goes, he’ll be ready.”Perhaps the biggest question about Gary, though, is the health of his shoulder. A labrum injury affected him throughout the 2018 season, but Gutekunst does not expect that to be an issue. “I felt very comfortable long term that issue is going to be resolved,” he told reporters, adding that he does not expect Gary to need surgery. Any such surgery would cost the top pick significant, valuable time in OTAs or training camp, so this indicates that he will be good to go for a full workload leading up to his rookie year.Ultimately, both Hueber and Gutekunst made it clear that the team viewed Gary as one of the best players in this year’s draft. Hueber said he felt that Gary was a top ten talent, while Gutekunst said he felt “very fortunate that (Gary) fell to 12.” Although Packers fans may question whether Gary was the right player for the Packers to select on Thursday night. no such questions appear to be present in the team’s personnel decision-makers. And frankly, that’s the way fans should want it to be.
NASHVILLE Tyquan Lewis Jersey , Tenn. (AP) — The Indianapolis Colts have Andrew Luck healthy and throwing the ball all over the field. That's more than enough with an injured Marcus Mariota stuck watching from the Tennessee sideline.Luck threw for 285 yards and three touchdowns and the Colts beat the Titans 33-17 on Sunday night for the final spot in the postseason as the AFC's No. 6 seed. With the Texans winning the AFC South title earlier Sunday with a victory over Jacksonville, that left the Colts and Titans playing for the second wild-card berth and a visit to Houston on Saturday."It's been a lot of fun," Luck said. "It's been a journey, that's for sure. I think what this team is doing is enjoying the journey."Luck remained perfect against Tennessee, notching his 11th victory for the most wins by a quarterback since at least 1970 to win his first 11 starts against one franchise. He helped the Colts (10-6) — under first-year coach Frank Reich — end their postseason drought by winning for the ninth time in 10 games after a 1-5 start."I mean you're 1-5, and that's special," Reich said. "It not only takes the whole team for 10 weeks, so that's very special."The Titans (9-7) snapped a four-game winning streak with Mariota sidelined by neck and foot injuries. They missed a second straight playoff berth under first-year coach Mike Vrabel."We made a decision that Marcus wasn't going to play tonight," said Vrabel, who gave no details on when the decision not to start Mariota was made nor the seriousness of his injury. "We'll continue to evaluate him and try to worry about his health and every one of those guys' health — Marcus included."The Colts intercepted two of Blaine Gabbert's passes in the final 9:05 to finish off their 13th win in the last 15 games in the series.Marlon Mack ran for 119 yards and a TD for the Colts. Adam Vinatieri kicked field goals of 53 and 25 yards. The NFL's oldest active player missed his final extra point.Derrick Henry, who took the Titans' first offensive snap out of the wildcat Ryan Grant Color Rush Jersey , finished with 93 yards.Tennessee was missing three defensive starters with four-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Jurrell Casey placed on injured reserve Monday and linebacker Brian Orakpo scratched for a third straight game. That left the Titans unable to pressure Luck even with the Colts missing center Ryan Kelly because of a neck injury. And Luck simply shredded a Tennessee defense that came in as the NFL's No. 2 scoring defense giving up just 18 points a game and sixth against the pass.He drove the Colts 92 yards before hitting Dontrelle Inman with an 11-yard TD pass and finished off a 90-play drive that used up nearly 10 minutes with a 9-yard pass to Eric Ebron. That left the Colts up 14-0, having held the ball for nearly 17 of the first 21 minutes.Luck also added a 1-yard TD toss to Ryan Hewitt on the opening drive of the third quarter for a 24-10 lead."The most satisfying thing is to walk in the locker room, look at your teammate and say, ‘We did it,' and we did it," Reich said. "Those are three of the best words that you can ever say to your teammate. To me, that's really the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow."Titans linebacker Jayon Brown almost singlehandedly kept the Colts from putting the game away before halftime.Brown returned an interception 22 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter. After Adoree Jackson inexplicably grabbed at a bouncing punt that put the Colts at the Tennessee 9, the Colts had a TD run by Mack erased by a holding penalty on center Evan Boehm. Two plays later, Brown stripped Mack of the ball and recovered it.Ryan Succop kicked a 38-yard field goal that pulled Tennessee to 17-10 at halftime. Gabbert threw a 22-yard TD pass to Luke Stocker to pull the Titans to 24-17 late in the third quarter.INJURIESThe already banged-up Titans had tight end Luke Stocker leave with an injured knee early in the second quarter followed by receiver Tajae Sharpe being helped to the sideline with an ankle. Stocker returned. Sharpe didn't.Colts defensive end Tyquan Lewis hurt his knee late in the first half and did not return. Colts receiver Ryan Grant hurt a toe.FLYING FLAGSThe Colts would have won by a bigger margin if not for penalties that wiped out not one, but two touchdowns. They at least salvaged a Vinatieri field goal after Jordan Wilkins‘ TD run in the fourth quarter was erased by a formation penalty. The Colt were flagged 12 times for 96 yards. The Titans, who came in as the NFL's least penalized team https://www.coltsfanshop.com/Marshall-Faulk-Jersey , finished with nine penalties for 75 yards.UP NEXT:Colts: Wild-card game in Houston on Saturday.Titans: Try to get Mariota healthy and find a better backup. INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Andrew Luck might be playing the best football of his career. He’s still going to need help reaching the playoffs with mounting injuries threatening to derail the Indianapolis Colts‘ late postseason push. One week after starting center Ryan Kelly went down with a left knee injury and one day after coach Frank Reich announced tight end Jack Doyle would miss the rest of the season with an injured kidney, Luck and his teammates started preparing for the closing five-game stretch that will determine whether they end a three-year playoff drought.“We’ve done it before,” tight end Eric Ebron said Tuesday said when asked about the adjustments. “Everybody has to take on a heavier workload.”Doyle was injured late in the third quarter or early in the fourth, returned for two plays before leaving for good and then wound up in the hospital Sunday night for what Reich called a “procedure.”The team provided no immediate update on whether Doyle had been released from the hospital during Tuesday’s availability. The adaptations start with Ebron, the lone remaining healthy tight end among the five listed on last week’s depth chart. He’s already caught 11 touchdown passes this season, matching his previous four-year total and tying Dallas Clark’s single-season franchise record by a tight end and has played the way Detroit envisioned when it made Ebron a first-round draft pick in 2014.It’s unclear whether Mo Alie-Cox, Ryan Hewitt or Erik Swoope could return from injuries this week. All three were inactive last weekend, and Reich’s offense has benefited from creating mismatches among the tight ends.“We are hopeful and optimistic that some of those guys — one or two or all three of those guys — will be ready,” Reich said Monday. “They have been making good progress.”But the hits have come hard and fast for Indy (6-5), which has won five straight to jump back into the playoff conversation.Kelly missed last week’s game with a sprained medial collateral ligament and without him, the Colts allowed their first sack in six games. Luck went 249 consecutive drop-backs without being sacked Eric Ebron Jersey , the longest streak of his pro career.Kelly’s status for this week is still to be determined though he said Tuesday he felt much better and was running on the treadmill.“It’s been progressing pretty well,” said Kelly, who was replaced in the lineup by midseason signee Evan Boehm. “The brace has helped.”Not enough?Running back Marlon Mack entered the concussion protocol during the fourth quarter Sunday, did not return and now his status also is in doubt this weekend. If he can’t go, the Colts will be down to their two rookies — Nyheim Hines and Jordan Wilkins — and possibly Jonathan Williams, presuming nobody else is signed. Williams hasn’t played since Indy signed him to the practice squad Oct. 2. He was promoted to the active roster last week. One saving grace for Indy: Rookie linebacker Darius Leonard escaped a serious knee injury that briefly knocked him out of Sunday’s game after the first offensive play. Leonard returned and finished the game and continues to lead the NFL with 114 tackles despite missing one game in October. But losing Doyle may create the most damaging impact for Indy.He followed his first Pro Bowl selection with 26 receptions for 245 yards and two touchdowns in six games. The Colts went 1-4 when he missed five games earlier this season with a bad hip and they had won all four since his Week 8 return against Oakland.Doyle’s absence leaves a big hole on the field — and in the locker room.“It hurts,” Ebron said. “I’m more hurt because of the type of player he is and what he means to the team and to me. But we’ve done it before. We just have to adjust a few things.”
first round of the 2018 draft and the plan in the backfield for this year appears to start with a Penny/Chris Carson combination at the top of the depth chart.Injuries and ineffectiveness can lead to plans going awry and that could leave space for another running back to make his mark in the Seattle offense this year. C.J. Prosise got that kind of opportunity as a rookie in 2016 Mychal Kendricks Jersey , but injuries have limited him to 10 games, 12 carries and nine catches over the last two seasons.Prosise was able to work throughout the offseason, however, and head coach Pete Carroll said last month that he’ll get a shot to compete if he can remain healthy this summer.“It has been great to see him healthy,” Carroll said, via the team’s website. “He has been fit throughout Steve Largent Color Rush Jersey , he’s really strong, worked out really hard in the offseason to get his strength right, and his weight is up, but he’s fit and has really been able to do a little bit of everything. So to add him into the competition is really nice. So we’re fired up about C.J. being back.”The Seahawks were second in the league in rushing attempts last season and they figure to take a similar approach on offense if all is going well this season. That should leave a role open for Prosise as long as he can avoid another stint on the injury list. The Seattle Seahawks look set to get a boost to their offense ahead of their first matchup against the 49ers in 2018. Doug Hendrickson, agent to Seahawks running back J.D. McKissic, hinted at McKissic’s pending addition to the active roster on Tuesday night. McKissic is in his second week of practice with the team Patrick Kerney Color Rush Jersey , after beginning the year on injured reserve with a Jones’ fracture in his foot. Seattle would have had another full week before having to make a decision, but it appears the satellite back is recovered and ready to play. With C.J. Prosise rarely seeing the field, Mike Davis has been the team’s third down back in 2018. As steady as Davis has been, McKissic will offer the offense a completely new skill set in that role, and should provide an immediate boost. In 13 games for the Seahawks in 2017, McKissic posted 453 yards and three touchdowns on 80 touches. Earlier in the day Germain Ifedi Color Rush Jersey , Seattle waived Keenan Reynolds, opening up a roster spot. Reynolds was added to the roster on Saturday, when Doug Baldwin’s status for Week 12 was in question. Tight end Darrell Daniels, who was waived in order to make room for Reynolds, was claimed by the Cardinals. Additionally, the Seahawks waived wide receiver Malachi Dupre from their practice squad on Tuesday Marshawn Lynch Color Rush Jersey , leaving them with two open spots. Reynolds will presumably be re-added, if he clears waivers.
will finally stop. The Browns aren’t fooling around. With three stunning trades on the eve of free agency White Corey Bojorquez Jerseys , Cleveland landed a proven starting quarterback, a game-breaking, three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver and a shut-down cornerback. After 16 straight losses on the field, victory. Two months after a winless season mercifully ended, new general manager John Dorsey addressed major roster needs Friday by acquiring mobile quarterback Tyrod Taylor in a deal with Buffalo, wide receiver Jarvis Landry from Miami and cornerback Damarious Randall from Green Bay, a person with direct knowledge of the overhaul told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.Teams are not permitted to announce any trades until next week.In exchange, the Browns shipped quarterback DeShone Kizer and swapped late-round picks with the Packers, gave the Dolphins a fourth-round pick this season and a seventh rounder in 2019 and sent the Bills the No. 65 overall pick in this year’s draft. All in a day’s work for Dorsey, who brought in major talent without giving up any of the team’s five picks in the first two rounds this year. And the makeover came as the team awaits word from Pro Bowl left tackle Joe Thomas on his future. Thomas, who played more than 10,000 straight snaps before tearing his left triceps last season, is mulling retirement. The Browns gave him more to think about. Not long after Dorsey’s trifecta, Thomas tweeted: ”(at)Browns are en fuego!! Here’s to John Dorsey tonight!!The acquisition of Taylor would seem to change Cleveland’s plans to pursue a veteran quarterback in free agency Corey Bojorquez Jerseys 2019 , which begins Monday when teams are permitted to contact agents. It was assumed the Browns would target Cincinnati’s AJ McCarron, whom they tried to land in a trade last season before the deal was squelched when the teams failed to properly file paperwork to the league.McCarron wants to start and it’s unlikely he would want to compete with Taylor, who led the Bills to their first postseason appearance since 1999. The dynamic Taylor, who finished with a 23-21 record in three seasons with Buffalo, can affect the game as a passer or runner and he’s the type of quarterback Browns coach Hue Jackson has sought since coming to Cleveland. However, even with Taylor around, the Browns are still expected to select a quarterback with the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s draft and Dorsey and his staff are in the process of deciding if that’s Southern Cal’s Sam Darnold, UCLA’s Josh Rosen, Wyoming’s Josh Allen or Oklahoma’s Baker Mayfield, the Heisman Trophy winner who scares some Cleveland fans because of his Johnny Manziel-like showmanship.Cleveland’s next starting quarterback will be the team’s 29th since 1999.But unlike Kizer, who led the NFL with 22 interceptions, went 0-15 and went through numerous growing pains as a rookie starter, Taylor will have offensive weapons around him.Landry is as good as they get.The 25-year-old, who caught a league-best 112 passes last season White Marcus Murphy Jerseys , immediately upgrades a Cleveland offense that finished last in scoring and didn’t have any player who threatened a defense until wide receiver Josh Gordon made his late return from an indefinite NFL suspension. With Gordon on the outside, Landry in the slot and Taylor behind center, the Browns have the makings of a potent attack.Landry signed a $16 million, one-year franchise tag Thursday with Miami, clearing the path for his trade. The Dolphins began shopping him when the parties were unable to reach an agreement on a long-term contract, which he’s likely to get from the Browns.A big contract could help calm the sometimes volatile Landry, whose 400 receptions are the most by any player in his first four seasons.”Y’all better understand (stuff) about to get SERIOUS… ON MY MAMA,” Landry posted on Twitter shortly after news that he was Cleveland bound broke. The additions of Taylor and Landry certainly must have thrilled new Browns offensive coordinator Todd Haley, who was fired in Pittsburgh following the Steelers‘ divisional-round playoff loss. Haley spent the past six seasons working with Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell. All Cleveland needs is a breakaway running back and the Browns could get one with the No. 4 overall pick if Penn State’s Saquon Barkley is still around.Dorsey also took care of defensive coordinator Gregg Williams by acquiring Randall, a former first-round pick who was inactive for the Packers’ final two games last season with a knee injury.Randall started 30 games in three years for the Packers, who drafted him with the No. 30 overall pick in 2015. He had some injuries issues – and a visible spat with the team – in 2017, but finished the year as Green Bay’s best cover cornerback. He was benched in the second half of a Sept. 28 game against Chicago by coach Mike McCarthy, who sent him to the locker room.Cleveland’s secondary was a mess last season after the club decided to waive veteran cornerback Joe Haden.Dorsey’s remodeling of the Browns is far from finished. Before the trades Marcus Murphy Jerseys 2019 , Cleveland was $113 million under the salary cap and the team figures to remain busy next week. But after an historic losing season, the wins don’t feel as far away.— MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) — Jordan Phillips‘ eagerness to get the last word backfired on the Buffalo Bills. The animated defensive tackle drew a costly penalty for taunting his former team, setting up a touchdown with nine minutes left that helped the Miami Dolphins rally past Buffalo 21-17 on Sunday.Miami turned away two Bills drives down the stretch, and Charles Clay made a diving try but failed to catch Josh Allen’s desperation fourth-down pass at the goal line in the final minute.Article continues below ...“This one hurts a lot,” Allen said. The rookie quarterback threw for 231 yards and ran for 135 to set a franchise record for rushing yards by a quarterback for the second week in a row. Miami won despite being outgained 415-175.“It beats the heck out of the alternative,” said Miami’s Ryan Tannehill, who threw three touchdown passes .The Dolphins (6-6) snapped a two-game losing streak and won for only the third time since Week 3, helping their slim playoff chances. The Bills (4-8) will play their customary role of spoilers in the final weeks, assured of finishing at .500 or worse for the 16th time in the past 19 years.Phillips had said he was eager to settle old scores with the Dolphins after they released him in Week 5, and Miami was trying to rally from a three-point deficit when he tackled Kenyan Drake for a 4-yard loss deep in Bills territory.Phillips rose, pushed Drake’s leg away and drew a 15-yard penalty for taunting. When asked to describe the call, Phillips said, “Borderline is very generous. … I hit someone’s foot White Ryan Groy Jerseys , and that’s an unsportsmanlike conduct? OK.”Bills coach Sean McDermott tempered his critique of Phillips’ penalty.“He’s playing emotional football,” McDermott said. “He made a great play in the backfield, but at the same time, you can’t beat yourself. If that’s how they’re going to call it, that’s how they’re going to call it, and we have to play smarter than that.”On the play after the infraction, the Bills stopped Miami for another loss, and Phillips directed showy applause toward the Miami bench. Bills coaches then took him out of the game, and he watched from the sideline as Tannehill hit Kenny Stills with a 13-yard scoring pass for a 21-17 lead.Allen then drove the Bills to the Miami 23 before he was sacked on consecutive plays, and Stephen Hauschka missed a 55-yard field goal attempt. The Bills drove 65 yards in the final 2 1/2 minutes but again came up short — literally. A completion to Zay Jones at the 6 was overturned by a replay review. Allen’s final pass was off-balance, wobbly and underthrown, but Clay said he should have made the grab.“I just didn’t come down with it,” Clay said. “You’ve just got to catch it. I feel like I let everybody down.”Allen threw touchdown passes of 15 and 25 yards to Jones, and the duo also connected on a 2-point conversion. But Allen was intercepted twice by Xavien Howard and twice missed open receivers for potential scores.A muffed punt by the Bills’ Isaiah McKenzie led to the Dolphins’ second touchdown Ryan Groy Jerseys 2019 , which put them ahead 14-6.FIERY BILLSAfter the game, Phillips walked toward the Miami sideline and traded hugs with many of his former teammates.Meanwhile, Bills defensive end Jerry Hughes confronted an official in the tunnel near the locker room. Hughes accused the official of calling him a vulgar name.“I’ll catch you. I’ll catch you, guaranteed,” Hughes shouted, waving his index finger, as he was pulled away by Bills officials.Hughes later declined to elaborate on the reason for his anger.“I was angry?” he said. “I lost the game, so I am supposed to be angry.”INJURY REPORTBills C Russell Bodine left in the first quarter with a left leg injury and did not return.Dolphins reserve CB Cornell Armstrong left with a knee injury.UP NEXTThe Dolphins play host to AFC East New England on Sunday. The Patriots won the earlier meeting 38-7 in Week 4.The Bills play at home Sunday against the New York Jets, who lost an earlier meeting 41-10 in Week 10.

"But I still don't have a house yet, so if anyone has any suggestions on where to live, let me know."You could feel the hunger to win and the warmth from the fans out there. I do love the love and I'm just happy to be in a situation where I can give love back."Cleveland fans' crush on Beckham began as soon he was acquired in a March 13 trade with the New York Giants. His No. 13 was Nike's best-selling jersey over the next 2 1/2 months nationally, four spots ahead of rising star Mayfield, according to the NFLPA.Their popularity was reflected in the stands at the Browns' training facility, as seemingly every other fan was wearing Beckham or Mayfield apparel. Though Cleveland went 7-8-1 last season and hasn't made the playoffs in 17 years http://www.giantslockerroom.com/authentic-michael-strahan-jersey , "OBJ" has ignited unbridled optimism."I think Odell should feel the love from the fans because they showed it to him," coach Freddie Kitchens said. "The passion in the Cleveland area for the Browns — and from all Browns fans — is very unique. I think that was demonstrated today and will be demonstrated the rest of training camp."Kitchens designed a pass play to Beckham on the initial snap of 11-on-11 drills, then had Mayfield continue to feed him for the remainder of the 2 ½-hour practice. The 5-foot-11, 198-pounder earned the loudest cheers of the morning with a juggling, one-handed sideline catch while being blanketed by starting cornerback Terrance Mitchell. He later went over the middle, between defenders, to haul in a touchdown while sliding to his knees."It is kind of a security blanket having Odell," Mayfield said. "The one throw on my left Kareem Martin Jersey , it looked like he kind of double-jumped because he had another jump in the air. We talked about it in the spring; he is just a special individual who can do things like that."Beckham is aiming to prove his value to the team off the field, as well, by taking an active leadership role. Kitchens praised his ongoing effort to build relationships and is encouraging him to share his knowledge with younger players. It's a dramatic change from the egocentric image Beckham earned over five seasons with the Giants, but one that the 26-year-old desperately wants to make."I'm blessed, God gifted me with some gifts," he said. "Whenever I go to eat in the café, I sit with a different group of people to talk and communicate and get to know these guys. I'm excited to be able to learn new faces because these are the guys you battle with, and you will forever remember and cherish them."Browns general manager John Dorsey is seeking to add another significant name to the roster as Pro Bowl defensive end Mike Daniels visited the team one day after being released by Green Bay. Cleveland has 2017 top overall draft pick Myles Garrett and Pro Bowl selection Olivier Vernon Womens Robert Thomas Jersey , acquired in the Beckham trade, at the position, but Dorsey said a team can never have too much talent."We like good football players and he wouldn't be here if he wasn't a good football player," Kitchens said. "Those other guys are not going away, either."NOTES: Oklahoma product Mayfield was asked to reveal the most important lesson he learned in college. "Don't run from the cops," he deadpanned, referring to his 2017 arrest for public intoxication and fleeing the police in Fayetteville, Arkansas. . If Fraser’s r茅sum茅 is any indication Chris Hogan Jerseys 2019 , though, his position will be a defensive one.Fraser originally began his coaching career in 1987 and in 2006 started working for Schiano at Rutgers in various roles. He followed him to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2012, and worked as linebackers coach (2012) and assistant defensive coordinator (2013). Following Schiano’s firing, Fraser returned to Rutgers as the Scarlet Knights’ linebackers coach before reuniting with his former boss at Ohio State from 2016 to 2018 as a defensive quality control coach. Now, he becomes the fourth outside hire to join New England’s coaching staff this offseason: as noted above, Schiano is expected to become the Patriots’ new defensive coordinator White Eric Rowe Jerseys , while Mick Lombardi and Carmen Bricillo are both projected to fill assistant roles on the offensive side of the ball. WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) — New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft has pleaded not guilty to two counts of misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution in a Florida case, according to court documents released Thursday.Kraft’s attorney Jack Goldberger filed the written plea with the Palm Beach County court on Wednesday. Kraft, 77, is requesting a non-jury trial.Kraft was among hundreds of men charged in a crackdown on massage parlor prostitution and an investigation into human trafficking at Florida spas. Ten spas have been closed and several people, mostly women originally from China Eric Rowe Jerseys 2019 , have been charged with running the operation.Jupiter, Florida, police say in court documents that Kraft was chauffeured to the Orchids of Asia Day Spa in a 2014 white Bentley on the evening of Jan. 19, where investigators say they videotaped him engaging in a sex act and then handing over an undetermined amount of cash.Kraft returned 17 hours later, arriving at the upper-middle class shopping center where the spa was located in a chauffeured 2015 blue Bentley, the documents said. Kraft White LaAdrian Waddle Jerseys , who is worth $6 billion, was videotaped engaging in sex acts before paying with a $100 bill and another bill, police said. He then flew to Kansas City to watch his Patriots defeat the Chiefs in overtime hours later.Kraft’s team then defeated the Los Angeles Rams in the Super Bowl two weeks later, their sixth championship since the 2001 season.Under Florida law, if Kraft is convicted, he would be required to complete 100 hours of community service LaAdrian Waddle Jerseys 2019 , attend a class on the dangers of prostitution and its connection to human trafficking and pay a $5,000 fine. He could also get a year in jail, although that is unlikely. He could also enroll in a diversion program. He would still have to perform the community service, attend the class and pay a fine, but he would avoid a criminal record.
EAST RUTHERFORD Steve McLendon Jerseys 2019 , N.J. 鈥?Sam Darnold has been a fan of Aaron Rodgers for years and wouldn’t mind following in his footsteps on the field. And, on the small screen.More Packers coverageGreen Bay Packers 2019 NFL draft capsulesPackers close out 2019 draft, select LB Summers in seventh roundPackers add CB Hollman, RB Williams in sixth roundPackers address defense in fifth round, select DL Kingsley KekePackers use third-round pick to select TE Jace SternbergerThe New York Jets rookie quarterback watched film of NFL stars while he was developing his own skills as a signal caller in high school, in college at USC and even now as a pro himself. One of the most frequently viewed players in Darnold’s studies has been Rodgers, the Green Bay Packers‘ two-time MVP.“Just the way he’s able to see the field so fast,” Darnold said. “It’s almost like he knows what the defense is going to do before the snap. For him, it looks so easy and so effortless. He has probably the best arm talent that I’ve ever seen, debatably, in NFL history.”Darnold also gives Rodgers a rousing review for his work over the years in a series of TV commercials for an insurance company.“He’s a great actor,” Darnold said with a big smile. “I think he’ll be a good actor one day and his TV commercials look pretty funny. So yeah, I envy his ability to go in front of camera and do that kind of stuff. Hopefully one day I can do that, too. I think one day actually he’ll be a great actor.”The Jets (4-10) host Rodgers and the Packers (5-8-1) on Sunday at MetLife Stadium in game that has no playoff implications with both teams out of the postseason picture.聽Rodgers still expects to play聽despite dealing with a sore groin that very well could have had the 35-year-old star decide to pack it in for the season.“I’m super competitive,” Rodgers said, “and I want to be out there with the guys, and I look forward to being out there.”The Packers are 1-1 under interim coach Joe Philbin, who replaced the fired Mike McCarthy. They are trying to snap a nine-game road losing streak, dating to last season. A loss to New York would mark the first time Green Bay would go through a season winless away from Lambeau Field since the 1958 squad, and the sixth time in franchise history.“Yeah White Quincy Enunwa Jerseys , I think it’s important for us to not be a statistic next to the (1958) Packers,” Rodgers said. “It’s disappointing. It’s frustrating. It would be good for our confidence and for the young guys to feel what that post-win locker room, bus ride, plane flight back feels like, and take it with us in the future.”Here are other things to know about the Packers-Jets matchup:TAKING OFFDarnold has two straight solid games聽after missing three with a foot injury. The No. 3 overall draft pick聽has thrown three touchdown passes and just one interception since returning聽, and has made plays with his legs while giving the Jets leads in the fourth quarter of both games.“I didn’t want the time off, I wanted to keep going, I wanted to keep getting experience,” Darnold said. “But that’s what happened. I felt like for me, I truly believe everything happens for a reason.”ADAMS’ ASCENTHere’s one reason for Rodgers to play even if the Packers are already eliminated: receiver Davante Adams has a chance to set a couple franchise records.Already at 100 catches for the first time in his career with two games left, Adams needs 13 to break the club mark set by Sterling Sharpe in 1993. At 1,315 yards, Adams is 205 away from breaking the single-season club record held by former teammate Jordy Nelson (1,519 in 2014). Adams also earned his second Pro Bowl nod this year, though his first as an original selection.“To be able to rise and do the things that I’ve dreamed of, obviously I feel like I’m still scratching the surface now, I’m nowhere near my prime,” Adams said.VERY SPECIAL TEAMSPerhaps the Jets’ biggest surprise has been the overall play of their special teams unit. Two of the standouts on that squad were selected to their first career Pro Bowls.Return specialist Andre Roberts聽, a nine-year veteran, leads the NFL in kick return yards (912) and ranks second in punt return yards (312). Jamaal Williams, the only other running back who has been on the active roster all season, was limited in practice this week with a toe injury.Williams, who started at the beginning of the season, would likely take back the job 鈥?if healthy. Kapri Bibbs, claimed off waivers from the Redskins this week, may be pressed into service if he can get up to speed quickly in practice.ON THE LINEA defensive line considered a strength at the beginning of the year has been ravaged by injuries. Muhammad Wilkerson and Mike Daniels went on injured reserve earlier this year, and emerging third-year player Kenny Clark missed last week’s loss to the Bears with an elbow injury. That has left coordinator Mike Pettine starting third-year player Dean Lowry and undrafted rookie free agent Tyler Lancaster. His college teammate, Mackensie Alexander, was selected by the Vikings in the second round of that year’s draft, and had an outstanding year in the nickel role last season after fighting such a transition for his first couple of seasons.I’m not sure how the Vikings are going to juggle their secondary in 2019. I’m not sure if taking Alexander out of his spot as the nickel defender would be the best move for the team, but Kearse has shown that he can handle greater responsibility as well. The Vikings have an embarrassment of riches in their secondary, and players like Kearse and Alexander are a big part of that. Being able to move players around is a big deal not only in the case of potential injuries, but it would give the team greater flexibility in handling certain in-game situations, depending on how their opponents are lining up.It’s going to be interesting to see what Mike Zimmer, George Edwards Dan Bailey Jersey , and company do with the defense going forward, since it appears that they’re going to attempt to give themselves as many potential options as possible. The Vikings make two picks and four trades" Minnesota Vikings 2019 NFL Draft2019 NFL Draft: Thoughts on rounds two and three for the VikingsNew,188commentsThe Vikings make two picks and four tradesCDTShare this storyShare this on FacebookShare this on TwitterShareAll sharing optionsShareAll sharing options for:2019 NFL Draft: Thoughts on rounds two and three for the VikingsTwitterFacebookRedditPocketFlipboardEmailPhoto by Ezra Shaw/Getty ImagesGoing in to day two of the draft, the Minnesota Vikings needed to address several areas. On offense, they needed a running back to replace Latavius Murray and complement Dalvin Cook, a tight end of the future, and they could still use another lineman. The defense was more set, but depth on the line, at linebacker, and cornerback were areas that could have been taken care of.After three picks and four trades, the Vikings got three really good football players. In the second round, Minnesota selected TE Irv Smith from Alabama, a guy who might be the best catch-block combo tight end in the draft. In the third round, they took Boise St RB Alexander Mattison after several trades down to the bottom of the round. Mattison looks like a guy that can step right in to the Murray role, and he is a ball of hate when he’s toting the rock. When you add in first round pick Garrett Bradbury, a guy you can pencil in to start on the o-line today http://www.thevikingslockerroom.com/authentic-randy-moss-jersey , Minnesota has three guys that will contribute significantly right away, and that’s a good thing. It’s also the first time in the Mike ZImmer era that the Vikings have gone offense with their first three picks,I really like all three players, just so that’s on the record. My only quibble, at least last night, was the amount of trading GM Rick Spielman did do get to where the Vikings sit this morning. The Vikes stayed put in the second round when they drafted Smith (pick 50 overall), but the third round was a wild one. They started out at pick 81, which they traded to Detroit. Did anyone else get 2010 Chris Cook flashbacks when that happened, or was that just me? Just me? Okay, then. After the Lions trade, the Vikes moved down again, to 92, in a trade with Seattle, and I thought they were done. That trade netted them a fifth rounder, which they didn’t have going into the draft, and if my math is right that gave Spielman his magical ten picks. But no Womens Ameer Abdullah Jersey , there were two more trades coming! First there was a move one spot down to 93, and they finally ended up with the last pick of the third round, 102.As the Vikings enter the last four rounds today, they have a whopping nine picks—one each in the fourth and fifth rounds, four in the sixth round, and three in the seventh. We can debate and argue as to whether or not Minnesota should have stayed at 81 and picked someone, or even at 92 or 93, and those conversations are already raging. I mean look, the chances of finding a good player is a lot better the earlier you pick, because duh, but consider this information from our old friend Arif Hasan:So by some more advanced metrics, the Vikings came out ahead on these trades and have an opportunity to find a couple of really good diamonds in the rough. If you have faith in the scouting department that found Everson Griffen (fourth round), Jarius Wright (fourth), Shamar Stephen (seventh), Stefon Diggs (fifth), and Jayron Kearse (seventh) Marcus Epps Minnesota Vikings Jerseys , the chances of the Vikings hitting on one or two of these picks seems decent. However, if you’re of the mind that these are the same guys that drafted T.J. Clemmings, Willie Beavers, MoBo, and the other litany of late round picks that never worked out, you’re probably irritated as Hell right now, and I understand the frustration. But consider this: The Vikings have a ton of draft capital today to either move up in the fourth round, up in the fifth round, up in the fourth AND fifth round, or maybe swing a deal and get an extra 4 or 5.And there are a TON of good players still available. For me, the bottom line is that the Vikings got a lot better on paper the last two days on offense, and they have enough picks left to move up and target players they want, which Rick Spielman has a history of doing.Let’s see how today pans out.
he will be in Green Bay for a pre-draft visit."Montez Sweat recently posted one of the best performances ever by an edge rusher or defensive lineman at the NFL Scouting Combine. The Mississippi State product — who moved over to the defense after being a former tight end recruit at Michigan State — is meeting with NFL teams and media at the Bulldogs’ Pro Day on Wednesday as he continues to gain traction near the tops of draft boards. The Green Bay Packers are also apparently very interested in Sweat Youth Ty Summers Jersey , who told NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero that the Packers are one of the teams that has scheduled a pre-draft visit with him.Sweat’s 4.41-second 40-yard dash in Indianapolis was the fastest on record for a player in the defensive end group. He also tested above the 75th percentile among edge rushers in every movement test in Indy, doing so at an impressive 6-foot-6 and 260 pounds:Interestingly, Sweat put up those numbers after his medical checks at the Combine revealed a minor heart condition. However, the league doctors still cleared him to work out after those examinations, and NFL teams seem largely unconcerned about the condition. In addition to his testing results, Sweat’s production in Starkville and his experience in a hybrid scheme should intrigue teams up and down the draft. He recorded 10.5 sacks as a junior before notching 12 more as a senior last year, while Mississippi State used him from both a two- and three-point rushing stance. All of these factors have combined to give Sweat legitimate buzz as a potential top-ten draft selection. For now, this is the first word we have of a player taking an official pre-draft visit to Green Bay. APC will continue to monitor reports of Top-30 visits leading up to the 2019 NFL Draft White Ty Summers Jersey , which will be held from April 25th to 27th. MOBILE, ALA — After a day of the Senior Bowl practices not being available to the media due to inclement weather on Wednesday, the players were back on the field at Ladd-Peebles Stadium to make one last impression on scouts before they play the game on Saturday. The action was hotly contested and even brought two of the premier players at the event to fisticuffs at one point during the North practice. Sometimes some chippiness and animosity can be good, though. North PracticeThe North team began the day, and pads began popping quickly. Again, I focused mostly on the offensive and defensive lines throughout practice. USC offensive tackle Chuma Edoga has really impressed me this week. I was not a fan of his entering the week, but he’s played nearly flawlessly at left tackle during one on ones and during the team dills. Edoga played right tackle for the Trojans and played somewhere around 285-290 pounds, but weighed in at 303 which is a big deal for him. I think he could end up as a tackle or at either of the interior positions in a zone specific blocking scheme. Maryland’s defensive lineman Byron Cowart is another player who had some question marks heading into this week. Cowart is a former #1 overall recruit who started his career at Auburn before transferring to a junior college and then finishing his career at Maryland. Cowart is 6’3” and 297 pounds Davante Adams Jersey , but played defensive end at Maryland. Cowart is still a player who is learning the nuances of the position, but his positional versatility is appealing. Kansas State’s Dalton Risner and Boston College’s Zach Allen came to blows during a team session, and then immediately lined up on each other for 1 on 1s. Both of these players are brutes and the physicality in the trenches is not only welcomed, it’s encouraged. Memphis offensive weapon Tony Pollard is a guy I caught some glimpses of who I really think can carve out a niche for himself. He’s playing here as a running back, but played wide receiver for the Tigers. He also has an impressive history as a kick returner as well. South PracticeThe 49ers’ coaches finished the week’s practice with the afternoon session of practice on Thursday. Mississippi offensive lineman Javon Patterson had a nice showing on Thursday after a bit of a lackluster Tuesday practice. Patterson switched between guard and center during the practices, and while I don’t know if he’s ever a starter, his versatility will be valued. Texas A&M defensive lineman Kingsley Keke had another day similar to Tuesday, where he would look like a potential first rounder on one rep Ray Nitschke Jersey White , and get stonewalled on the next few. In my opinion Keke is going to get over-drafted, but there is no doubt in my mind that at 6’3” 286, some defensive line coach will see someone he can “fix” the warts on. South Carolina’s Deebo Samuel has been dominant all week long, and he finished strong on Thursday. He’s been uncoverable all week, and reminds me a bit of younger Randall Cobb, with the stout build in the slot who thrive in run after the catch situations. Buffalo quarterback Tyree Jackson, a 6’7” 250 pound quarterback, has some issues Aaron Rodgers Jersey White , but man, he has a hose. Easily the strongest arm here in Mobile, his throws don’t always look the prettiest, but at times he makes very difficult throws look incredibly simple. His upside is tantalizing, but he’ll definitely benefit from sitting a year or two before being asked to take over. LSU tight end Foster Moreau has had a very nice week. Moreau was under utilized in the pass game at LSU (so is literally everyone else) but he showed some nice athleticism and is always very willing as a blocker. He was given the jersey number 18, which anyone familiar with LSU’s program knows that’s not an honor they take lightly. Moreau is someone to watch moving forward.
players to target Training camp is here! Before we get to draft season Rashan Gary Jersey 2019 , I wanted to go through the NFC North and look at players whom you might want to keep an eye on to see where their fantasy football value is trending. We’ve already looked at the Detroit Lions that you can check out here:Avoid these Detroit Lions players in your early draftsDetroit Lions players you should consider draftingThese players can either be trending towards fantasy relevance or complete irrelevance. This article addresses players who are in the latter group. We’ll look at three players from the Chicago Bears who should be targeted or worth taking a flier on. You can also check out who to consider avoiding from the Bears here. Fantasy season is just around the corner, and it’s time to start building those big boards.Jordan Howard, RBSomehow, I feel like Howard is being overlooked as a viable fantasy option. He’s not Alvin Kamara in the passing game (only 52 catches in two seasons), but he’s a low-floor prospect. Drafting Howard should be an obvious choice because he’s a starting running back who’s guaranteed to get rushing reps. His current ADP is hovering around pick 15, so easily a #2 back on your roster. In Howard’s rookie year, he had 252 carries that resulted in 1,313 yards on the ground and six touchdowns. That was also after just 13 starts at the position. So in his sophomore year, you have to think that momentum was building, right? Well White Rashan Gary Jersey , not when the Bears turned the reigns over to a rookie quarterback and we watched John Fox’ stale offense run Howard into the back of the offensive line over and over. With more run-pass options in Matt Nagy’s offense, hopefully that’ll open things up for Howard.Where Howard needs to improve from a fantasy point, is finding the end zone. Of course, that’s an issue the Bears offense had all last season. Howard had nine TDs last season, but if he wants to crack the top-10 in backs he’ll need to either crack 14 touchdowns on the ground or pick up the slack grabbing TDs through the air (0 receiving TDs in 2017). Tarik Cohen could be an impediment on Howard’s receiving stats, but at least you know Howard’s good for 1,000 yards rushing. Tarik Cohen, RBSpeaking of Tarik Cohen, other than Mark Ingram, Cohen might be the best handcuff option in the league. Towards the end of last season Cheap Rashan Gary Jersey , Cohen got more touches and capitalized on the opportunity. In a secondary role, he put together 370 yards on the ground and 353 through the air. Cohen might not be as explosive as Tyreek Hill was for Nagy in Kansas City, but the speedy back feels he’s faster than a 4.4 40. And I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw Cohen lined up in the slot every so often while Howard is still positioned in the backfield. He also has kick return potential which helps his fantasy prospects. Cohen’s current ADP is in the seventh round (~pick 82) so the value here could be tremendous. You’ll have to monitor how he’s being utilized in summer practices and the preseason before you plug him in as a FLEX option, but keep an eye on him. Mitchell Trubisky, QBI’ve done my best to avoid the hyperbole of a young quarterback making that second-year leap a la Carson Wentz and Jared Goff. When I started writing about the fantasy value of Bears players this season, I even tried to make the case for not drafting Mitch Trubisky. And then I ended up talking myself into him instead. The case for Trubisky at least being a little bit better can be made exclusively with the addition of new head coach and offensive-mind, Matt Nagy and OC Mark Helfrich, who has experience working with athletic QBs. But the case for him being a lot better goes like this: Trubisky is free of the shackles of the stale John Fox offense that didn’t utilize his athleticism; Chicago will have competent, healthy weapons; and he will have the full support of the organization to start from week one. While he had some rough games last season against some solid defenses (three picks against the Lions, two against the Eagles) Youth Rashan Gary Jersey , there were spurts of good quarterback play that you like to see out of a rookie. In Trubisky’s first preseason game last season, we saw glimpses of what we should see more of this season. Trubisky can make the short and intermediate throws with relative ease. His best plays during that scrimmage, though, came from when he’s moving outside the pocket and he just looks more comfortable delivering the passes on the move than standing in the pocket while the pressure comes in. In his first career start, Trubisky performed well against a team whose blitzes should induce nightmares for first-time NFL starters. Other than a terrible fourth-quarter interception, the throws were all there for Trubisky and the lack of receiver talent was noticeable. Trubisky made something out of nothing quite a few times, had a little luck on his first career TD pass, and showcased his athleticism on a trick two-point conversion. Again, the glimpses of being a starting-level QB are there. His deep ball needs to improve, but luckily that’s where the likes of Allen Robinson II Darnell Savage Green Bay Packers Jersey , Taylor Gabriel, Trey Burton and rookie Anthony Miller will help make that look like less of a weakness. Miller averaged 15 YPC during his career at Memphis and looks like someone who can help make a slightly inaccurate deep pass look like it’s exactly where it’s supposed to be. In Robinson’s best year, he averaged 17.5 YPC as a pro and Gabriel’s 40 time is 4.27. Defenses will have a much more difficult time covering all these guys than the pass catchers the Bears trotted out last season.Trubisky’s draft position is hovering around the 14th round, pick 172. Place kickers are going ahead of him. So this is the perfect opportunity to take a flier on a backup QB that might be poised to have a breakout year. Eagles head coach Doug Pederson said on Tuesday that he anticipates having wide receiver Alshon Jeffery in the lineup for Thursday’s game against the Packers and Jeffery took a step toward making that happen later in the day.Jeffery was a full participant at a walkthough for the Eagles after being listed as limited on the estimated practice report on Monday. Jeffery did not play against the Lions last Sunday due to a calf injury.Wide receiver DeSean Jackson (abdomen) also missed that game and is set to sit out again this week. Wideout J.J. Arcega-Whiteside (heel) joined Jeffery as a full participant after being listed as a non-participant on Monday.Running back Corey Clement (shoulder) and defensive end Derek Barnett (ankle) were limited on Tuesday. Defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan (foot) and cornerback Ronald Darby (hamstring) sat out along with Jackson.Tackle Andre Dillard (knee), tight end Dallas Goedert (calf), linebacker Nathan Gerry (calf, knee), linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill (knee), and quarterback Nate Sudfeld (left wrist) were all full participants for Philadelphia.
Minnesota Vikings 2019 OffseasonStefon Diggs #73 on NFL Network Top 100 listNew Riley Reiff Jersey ,26commentsA slight drop from last season’s spotCDTWe already passed along the word that Kirk Cousins made his appearance on the NFL Network’s Top 100 Players for 2019 list on Wednesday night, and one of his favorite targets landed just a few spots ahead of him.Wide receiver Stefon Diggs hit the list at #73, which is a slight drop from his ranking on the previous year’s list. Last year, he came in at #65.Diggs, as he has throughout his career, dealt with some injury issues in 2018, but still managed to top the 1,000-yard receiving mark for the first time in his career. He caught 102 passes for 1,021 yards, and also set a career-high mark with nine touchdown receptions. That also gave him his lowest yards/catch figure in his career, but hopefully he’ll get an opportunity to correct that in 2019.Diggs’ appearance on the list gives the Vikings three entries thus far Latavius Murray Jersey , as Diggs and Cousins joined Harrison Smith. I would have to imagine that there are two more Vikings on this year’s list. . .wide receiver Adam Thielen and defensive end Danielle Hunter. . .but it’s tough to figure where either of them might land. When they do make their appearances, however, we will tell you where they ended up. So what now for the longtime tight end?"WhiteFanposts Fanshots Sections Vikings 2018 SeasonVikings 2019 OffseasonU.S. Bank StadiumMinnesota Vikings PodcastsVikings and Kyle Rudolph break off contract extension talksNew,225commentsSo what now for the longtime tight end?CDTShareTweetShareShareVikings and Kyle Rudolph break off contract extension talksTim Fuller-USA TODAY SportsWhen the Minnesota Vikings headed into the offseason last December everyone knew that they would be fairly tight up against the salary cap, and they would need to either re-structure some deals with current players or release them. One of the players that many people thought the Vikings would work a new deal with was veteran tight end and Walter Payton Man of the Year finalist Kyle Rudolph. Rudolph, who is entering the last year of his contract, is scheduled to make over $7.6 million this year, with no dead money against the cap.Earlier in the off-season, it seemed like a re-structure or extension was almost a foregone conclusion. Rudolph said he was open to it, and it seemed like a logical move for both the player and the team. But as free agency drew closer...nothing happened. Then on the eve of the new league year, it was announced by Rudolph’s agent that there would be no re-structure George Iloka Jersey , and he would remain with the team in 2019.Now, it appears things have taken another turn:Rudolph’s name has also been mentioned as possible trade bait, and with an inability to get a new deal done, this seems like more and more of a possibility, as alluded to by Ian Rapoport. The Vikings are less than a million dollars under the salary cap per Spotrac, and still need some wiggle room to sign their top draft pick, Garrett Bradbury. So one way or another, a move regarding Rudolph seems to be coming soon. One of the teams that Rudolph has been linked to as a possible trade partner has been the New England Patriots, who are sitting almost $15 million dollars under the salary cap. They also have an obscene 14 picks coming up in the 2020 draft, to include three third round picks, two fourth Matt Wile Jersey , three sixth, and four picks in the seventh round. Rudolph for a third? Yeah, I’d do that deal. Rudolph for a four and a six? Yeah, I’d probably do that deal, too. Or the Vikings could just flat out release him, which would free up $7.6 million in cap space. If I’m the Patriots, why give up a draft pick right now if you think that could happen? Wait until they know for sure whether or not he’ll be released, and make your move when his status has been resolved. A trade will still be there once his contract status is settled, unless of course there’s another team in the mix.Still, a trade isn’t a foregone conclusion. If the Vikings decide to keep Rudolph, who I think would work well with TE Irv Smith in this new offense Rashod Hill Jersey , they could look to re-do a couple deals of other vets to give them cap relief. Just by converting part of the base salary of either Linval Joseph or Xavier Rhodes into a signing bonus, for example, the Vikings could clear enough space to ink Bradbury. Rhodes is scheduled to make $13.3 million in base salary, while Joseph is scheduled to make $10.6 million. So another move is coming by the Vikings, be it trade or a vet re-structure. Whether it involves Kyle Rudolph remains to be seen, but it appears as if this is coming to a resolution that doesn’t involve him playing with the Vikings, or at his 2019 salary...or both.
on Tuesday by meeting with Todd Monken about the vacancy they created by firing Todd Bowles at the end of the 2018 season.Monken just wrapped up his third year as the Buccaneers’ offensive coordinator under Dirk Koetter Womens Kelvin Beachum Jersey , who was fired as the head coach in Tampa around the same time the Jets dispatched Bowles. Monken had been the head coach at Southern Miss for three years before joining the Bucs.Monken has also interviewed with the Bengals and Packers this month and Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported that he was a “strong candidate” for the Packers before they opted to hire Matt LaFleur on Monday. The Jets interviewed former Lions and Colts head coach Jim Caldwell and former Texas Tech head coach Kliff Kingsbury on Monday. Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, Cowboys defensive backs coach/passing game coordinator Kris Richard, former Dolphins coach Adam Gase and former Packers head coach Mike McCarthy have also interviewed with the team. The Big Cat is joining Big Blue. The New York Jets traded defensive lineman Leonard Williams to the Giants on Monday for a third-round draft pick next year and a fifth-rounder in 2021, according to a person with direct knowledge of the deal.Williams was the No. 6 overall pick by the Jets in 2015 and made the Pro Bowl in his second season, but never lived up to his lofty draft status. He has 17 career sacks, but none in seven games this season for the struggling Jets. He actually had one in New York's 29-15 loss at Jacksonville on Sunday that was negated by a penalty on a teammate. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because neither team had announced the deal, which is the first completed trade since 1983 between the teams that share MetLife Stadium. The Jets sent a conditional pick to the Giants in '83 for offensive lineman Chris Foote http://www.jetslockerroom.com/authentic-keyshawn-johnson-jersey , but the trade was nullified a week later when he was waived.ESPN first reported the deal for Williams on Monday, a day before the NFL's trade deadline at 4 p.m. EDT.Williams thanked the Jets in an Instagram post Monday night and said he looked forward to joining the Giants."It's been a pleasure playing here over the last few years through all the ups and downs and will never forget the memories and experiences shared with my teammates and coaches!" Williams wrote. "Now moving onto the next chapter of my life I want to thank the @nygiants for giving me the opportunity to continue my professional career in the big apple."The 25-year-old Williams is scheduled to become a free agent after this season. The fifth-rounder the Jets are receiving could become a fourth-rounder if the Giants sign Williams to a contract extension — which would appear to be a possibility given what the Giants gave up despite being 2-6. The Jets are also paying $4 million of the remaining $6 million on Williams' contract this year.He will provide experience on the Giants' defensive line, where he'll work alongside Dexter Lawrence, Dalvin Tomlinson and B.J. Hill. The Giants' interior line has just six sacks, so Williams' presence should help boost those numbers.Williams also won't have to wait long before facing his former team: The Jets host the Giants on Nov. 10.Giants coach Pat Shurmur was on a conference call as the news of the deal was breaking, but he declined comment. Jets coach Adam Gase also declined comment because the deal was not yet official. With his lion-like mane, Williams — nicknamed "Big Cat" — was one of the most recognizable players on the Jets in his five seasons since being drafted out of USC. He was also was productive with 240 total tackles Brent Qvale Jersey , two forced fumbles, an interception and four passes defensed in 71 games. But his lack of sacks was noticeable, despite former coach Todd Bowles and Gase and defensive coordinator Gregg Williams repeatedly saying he often did things that didn't show up on stat sheets. He entered the game against the Jaguars with a team-leading 10 quarterback hits.Williams' name had been floated in trade rumors in recent weeks with the Jets off to a 1-6 start and it seeming unlikely they would re-sign him in the offseason."I thought about it, obviously," Williams said after the Jets' 29-15 loss at Jacksonville on Sunday. "It's something that's being talked about, but at the same time I can't let it hinder my play on the field. I can't let it affect anything that I can control myself. It's something that's out of my control and it happens a lot more now in this league and you see trades occur way more often."I try to take my emotions out of it and let what happens happen."It's the first major trade by Jets general manager Joe Douglas, who took over for the fired Mike Maccagnan in June. It could also be just the beginning of another rebuilding process for a franchise that has gone eight years without a postseason appearance Womens Marcus Maye Jersey , with the drought likely to continue this season.A major reason for the team's inability to reach the playoffs has been its suspect drafting the past several years, leading to a lack of roster depth.Williams was part of Maccagnan's first draft class, and the Jets were thrilled he fell to them at No. 6 after many considered him the best all-around player available going in. But, with him gone, none of the team's six picks from that year remain on the team. The Jets had 12 draft picks in 2014 under then-GM John Idzik, but only wide receiver Quincy Enunwa remains from that class — and he is out for the season, and perhaps longer http://www.jetslockerroom.com/authentic-kelechi-osemele-jersey , with a second major neck injury in just over two years.AP Sports Writer Tom Canavan in East Rutherford, New Jersey, contributed to this report.
receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster just wants to move on from last December’s physical primetime meeting with the Cincinnati Bengals. But the second-year wideout thrust himself into one of the fiercest rivalries in the NFL last season with a memorable block against Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict. Smith-Schuster was reminded of the hit prior to Sunday’s game at Cincinnati.“I didn’t want to talk about it Hjalte Froholdt Jersey Boys ,” Smith-Schuster said. “I knew you guys were going to want to talk about this and make something out of it, but I am just trying to get a “W” this weekend, that’s it.”Last December, Smith-Schuster delivered a punishing blindside block on Burfict, the Steeler agitator, who ended running back Le’Veon Bell’s season in 2015, and injured quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and receiver Antonio Brown in the same playoff game at Cincinnati later that year.Smith-Schuster got a 15-yard penalty for the block and another penalty for taunting when he stood over Burfict after the hit. He also was given a one-game suspension.Burfict served a four-game suspension to open the current season. He returned to the lineup last week without incident and helped the first-place Bengals beat Miami.Smith-Schuster said he’s not concerned about Burfict or the Bengals seeking revenge on Sunday.“I’m just worried about the game, playing focused and playing with my teammates,” Smith-Schuster said. “It’s the AFC North and the rivalry is very strong. It’s physical and it’s going to be a tough game.”Last December’s game featured a combined 20 penalties for 239 yards, including a team-record 173 yards by the Bengals. It was also the game where Steelers LB Ryan Shazier sustained a life-altering spinal injury following a tackle.“There were a lot of emotions on both sides of the ball, obviously with Shazier and what I did,” Smith-Schuster said. “But it’s just a physical game. That’s what you’re going to get out of it.”Brown sustained a concussion and was knocked from the game by safety George Iloka – no longer with the Bengals — following a touchdown reception. The score helped Pittsburgh overcome a 17-point deficit and win its sixth straight in the series on a last-second field goal.“They’re always trying to get the best of us, either physically, after the play or during plays,” Brown said. “That’s why they call it the jungle because you have to go in there and be ready to win.”Brown met with the media for the first time Friday since two lawsuits were filed against him stemming from an incident at a Florida apartment complex last spring.Ophir Sternberg is seeking damages against Brown Infant Hjalte Froholdt Jersey , claiming objects thrown by Brown from the 14th floor of an apartment building in April came close to striking Sternberg’s father and 22-month-old son. A second lawsuit filed by the owner of the apartment building is seeking more than $15,000 in damages from Brown.“I can’t discuss pending litigation,” Brown said. “I just look forward to my day in court.”Brown told police that the incidents occurred after a gun and $80,000 were stolen from his apartment. Brown said in a statement a day earlier that the lawsuits contained “false claims” against him.“It comes from being successful, it comes from being in the spotlight, it comes from having fame,” Brown said on Friday. “If I was a nobody, (the media) wouldn’t be here speculating to begin with.”Brown said he’s focused on the Bengals this week.“I’m a professional and I know what I’m here for,” Brown said. “I’m trying to win football games. It’s Cincinnati week … it’s a big week for us. Being in this position comes with a lot of distractions and you have to be able to narrow your focus and that’s what I’m able to do.”NOTES: Steelers’ S Morgan Burnett (groin) will miss his fourth straight game, while WR Darrius Heyward-Bey (ankle) will miss his second straight. LB L.J. Fort (ankle) is doubtful. LB Vince Williams fully practiced this week after missing against Atlanta with a hamstring injury. A third-round draft pick by the Miami Dolphins in 1973, Gray joined the organization off waivers that same year and went on to establish himself as one of the best left tackles in football: he appeared in 80 games for New England over the course of six seasons and became a core member of what is now a legendary offensive line. One of the voters responsible for bestowing the honor upon the former Patriots starting left tackle Hjalte Froholdt Jersey Draft , who passed away in 2001 at just 49 years old, is the club’s current football research director, Ernie Adams. Revisiting some previous comments made by Adams about Gray tells just why he and his brethren decided on including the late offensive lineman in the exclusive club as the third ever senior inductee.“Leon Gray was everything you had wanted as a left tackle,” Adams told patriots.com back in 2013, when Gray first came up as a candidate for the Hall. “There are very few teams in the history of the National Football League that have run the ball over the course of a season for 200 yards a game: the ‘76 Patriots and the ‘78 Patriots were two of those teams. A lot of that was Sam Cunningham running behind Leon Gray.”As Adams mentioned, Gray and his teammates helped the Patriots average more than 200 rushing yards — 210.6, to be precise — over the course of 1976’ 14 regular season games. Two years later and following the NFL’s switch to a 16-game regular season format, Gray and the rest of the Patriots’ offensive line paved the way for 3,165 rushing yards. The number still stands as an NFL record today and will likely never be broken again.Gray’s excellence extended beyond his run blocking, though, and was only one reason why he was voted to two Pro Bowls and an All-Pro team in his six years in New England. “You never had to worry about having Leon Gray pass block for Steve Grogan at left tackle,” said Adams about the former waiver wire pickup that turned into one of the NFL’s premier offensive tackles of the 1970s.The man in question — long-time Patriots quarterback Steve Grogan — also spoke glowingly about Gray six years ago. “Leon was smart, he had great feet, good hands. You just knew that he was going to do his job,” said Grogan Hjalte Froholdt NFL Jersey , who himself was inducted into the club’s Hall of Fame in 1995. “The success we had during the mid-’70s, wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for a guy like Leon Gray playing left tackle for us.”Despite some outstanding play throughout his Patriots tenure and being voted to the organization’s team of 1970s, however, Gray is not the biggest name on New England’s outstanding offensive lines of the decade: the unit’s superstar was and still is Pro Football Hall of Fame guard John Hannah, who played shoulder-on-shoulder alongside the left tackle for all six of his seasons with the Patriots.“Hannah could very well be the best offensive lineman in the history of the league. Everybody remembers John,” said Adams before pointing out that the man playing on his left also needs to be recognized for his performance wearing the red, white, and blue. “I think John would probably be the first one to tell you a big part of the reason he was so good was he knew he was going to get great play from left tackle.”Indeed, Hannah named Gray as a reason for his success on the gridiron. Speaking to Sports Illustrated’s Paul Zimmerman in 1981, the player dubbed as ‘the greatest offensive lineman of all time,’ also spoke about his relationship with the man playing alongside him. “Having Leon Gray next to me all those years helped so much,” Hannah said. “We got to know what each of us could do. We ate together, studied films together. I knew the air he breathed.”The formidable duo was not built to last, however: New England traded away its stalwart left tackle to the Houston Oilers in a cost-cutting move just prior to the 1979 season — a decision criticized by Hannah at the time and in the years that followed. “When the Patriots traded Leon... well, I never wanted to sign another contract with them Hjalte Froholdt NFL Draft ,” he told Sports Illustrated in 1981. “I still haven’t gotten over it.”Hannah, of course, played out the rest of his career in New England before retiring after the Patriots’ Super Bowl loss in 1985. At that point, Gray was already retired: after spending three years in Houston and earning two more Pro Bowl and All-Pro selections each, he was traded again. After two years with the New Orleans Saints, the then-32-year-old decided to hang up his cleats at the age of 32.His legacy in New England still lives on, though, even beyond his untimely death during what would turn out to be the Patriots’ first championship season. “[Gray and Hannah] together, I’d be hard-pressed to think of a better guard-tackle combination anywhere that I’ve seen in the league,” said Adams, who saw both perform first-hand during his initial coaching tenure in New England from 1975 through 1979.“When you think of left tackle you think of someone like Leon Gray and somebody who plays the position like that.”
their best player Deandre Baker NFL Jersey , and staking the team to a 38-year-old quarterback. But for Giants tight end Evan Engram, having Eli Manning under center is no reason for concern.Via NFL Media, Engram said Manning still has what it takes to make the Giants offense effective.“One-hundred percent,” Engram said. “Eli picks up every blitz. He knows who’s coming. We hold protection meetings. He still can throw the ball and drive the ball down the field and give us opportunities to go up and make plays. So, 100 percent, he still has it.”Of course, Manning’s going to be the focus of any problems the Giants have because of their decision to keep him at the helm and trade wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Engram thinks that comes with some unfair expectations.“[Fans and the media] just see Eli [Manning] make a bad read or Eli getting sacked Deandre Baker NFL Draft ,” he said. “They don’t see that maybe there was a missed block here or a dropped ball there or a wrong route. One person’s success is a lot of times based off the man next to him. A lot of people don’t see that; they just see where their eyes are taking them. It’s easy to do that when you’re watching from your couch or if you’re at the game when everybody is flying around. I get it, but it’s the bigger picture.”Of course, for Manning to succeed this year, it would help for Engram to play more of a role. The former first-rounder missed five games and had 45 catches for 577 yards and three touchdowns, well off a promising rookie season. But he played well when Beckham wasn’t on the field, which could be a good sign for the future. The last time Giants coach Pat Shurmur appeared on WFAN, host Mike Francesa said in his direction (in lieu of asking a question): “You look like a terrible team. You’re not good at anything.”At least now Deandre Baker Buffalo Bills Jersey , they’ll have more time to work on getting better.According to Neil Best of , the Giants canceled Shurmur’s future appearances on the show.“I think that was an organizational decision not to do that,” Shurmur said. “Most people aren’t aware of this, but I wasn’t contractually obligated to do that spot.“We did it as a courtesy and out of respect for our relationship with the radio station. We just felt like for a while here, we’ll put that to bed for a while, and just not do it and move forward.”While Francesa will surely contend that they’re ducking hard questions, the above exchange makes it clear they’re not always questions Infant Daniel Jones Jersey , so the Giants decided to not send Shurmur in for abuse. He also continues to have regular press conferences through the week for the print and electronic media, so it’s not as if he’s less accountable. He’s just not volunteering for a ritual flogging.Former starting quarterback Eli Manning used to do a paid weekly spot with the station (Shurmur was not paid), but Manning decided this offseason to stop doing that.
ORCHARD PARK Bruce Smith Jerseys Stitched , N.Y. (AP)Mark Ingram scored a career-best three touchdowns and the New Orleans Saints won their seventh straight game by plowing through a porous Buffalo Bills defense in a 47-10 rout on Sunday. Alvin Kamara also had a 3-yard touchdown rushing as the Saints blew the game open by scoring five times on their first six possessions, not including a one-play series to close the first half. Ingram finished with 131 yards rushing by scoring twice from 3 yards , and another on a 1-yard plunge. The Saints finished with 298 yards rushing and 32 first downs.Article continues below ... Their defense was just as dominating in limiting Buffalo to 198 yards, and 10 first downs. And five of those first downs came on Buffalo’s meaningless final drive that ended with backup quarterback Nathan Peterman hitting Nick O’Leary on a 7-yard touchdown pass. New Orleans set a franchise record by scoring six touchdowns rushing, and it marked the most allowed by Buffalo in team history. Even Saints quarterback Drew Brees got involved in the run of rushing touchdowns by scrambling in from 6 yards to put New Orleans up 37-3 in the final minute of the third quarter. Trey Edmunds capped the scoring with a 41-yard touchdown run with 3:04 left. The Saints never punted, with the only thing to stop them was tight end Josh Hill losing a fumble at the Buffalo 9 in the first quarter. The Saints (7-2) haven’t lost since dropping their first two games of the season to match their longest winning streak since closing the 2011 season 8-0. New Orleans has already matched its win total from each of the past three seasons. The Bills (5-4) simply unraveled in losing their second straight and while dropping to 4-1 at home. The most notable cheer came with 4:53 remaining when Peterman replaced Tyrod Taylor and then immediately hit Deonte Thompson for a 10-yard reception along the right sideline. After Stephen Hauschka capped a nine-play 2019 Ed Oliver Jersey , 57-yard opening drive with a 37-yard field goal, the Bills never crossed midfield over their next eight possessions. Taylor finished 9 of 19 for 56 yards and an interception. LeSean MCcoy was bottled up in finishing with 49 yards rushing and another 11 receiving. As for the Bills defense, it followed up a poor-tackling effort in allowing 194 yards rushing and three touchdowns rushing in a 34-21 loss at the New York Jets on Nov. 2. Buffalo allowed a season-worst 482 yards. PICK BUT NO 6 Saints DT Sheldon Rankins nearly scored on an interception return only to be pushed out of bounds at the Bills 3 on Buffalo’s opening drive of the second half. Taylor’s pass over the middle hit tight end Charles Clay in the chest and bounced directly into Rankins’ hands. Ingram scored his third TD on the next play from scrimmage. BENJAMIN DEBUT Kelvin Benjamin, like much of the rest of the Bills offense, was rendered invisible in making his debut after being acquired in a trade with Carolina on Oct. 31. He finished with three catches for a team-best 42 yards. INJURIES Saints: Backup running back Daniel Lasco had feelings in his extremities after sustaining a spine injury while tackling Buffalo’s Brandon Tate on a kickoff return six minutes into the second quarter. Lasco moved his leg and briefly raised his arm as he was loaded into an ambulance and transported to a Buffalo-area hospital. Bills: DE Jerry Hughes did not return after hurting his shin late in the second quarter. INACTIVES/ACTIVES Saints: Starting offensive linemen Terron Armstead (chest) and Larry Warford (abdomen) are active despite being listed as questionable on the Saints final injury report. Bills: TE Charles Clay returned after missing three games with a left knee injury. LT Cordy Glenn (left ankle/foot) and WR Zay Jones (left ankle/knee) did not play after both were hurt in a 34-21 loss at the Jets on Nov. 2. UP NEXT Saints: Host Washington on Nov. 19. There was plenty of good, some bad and also some in-between.Regardless of the outcome of the Pittsburgh Steelers contest against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday Night Football, the Browns now own first-place in the division. Why? Because they had a 300-yard passer, a 100-yard rusher and a 150-yard receiver. BrowniesRunning back Nick Chubb - Every Browns’ fan knows that Chubb can be a game-changer and in Sunday’s beatdown of the Ravens, he proved to be one of many bright spots. Was anyone in their seat when he reeled off that 88-yard touchdown run? Both left guard Joel Bitonio and center J.C. Tretter had pulled to lead the blocking while tight end Demetrius Harris and right guard Eric Kush had formed a seal. When Chubb burst through the hole, it appeared that the safety had an angle, but once he hit stride at the 30 yard line, he accelerated into a completely different gear. His third quarter 14-yard touchdown was a cutback run in which he broke three tackles. 20 carries for 165 yards, three TDs and an 8.3 average is a fine day. Wide receiver Jarvis Landry - While Landry failed to score a touchdown, he almost scored a pair but stumbled on one pass play and extended the wrong hand towards the pilon on another. Landry was instrumental in so many passing plays it is hard to think that the Browns could have gotten as far down the field without his contributions. His game totals were 167 yards on eight catches with a remarkable 20.9 per catch average Joel Bitonio Color Rush Jersey , but those eight balls were at crucial times and for large chunks of yardage. His 65-yard catch and run could have been a touchdown but he turfed his toe and could not stop the tumble. One of the game’s biggest momentum changes occurred with 1:32 to go in the third quarter with Landry taking the shuffle pass from Baker Mayfield and brought it down to the two yard line.Defensive tackle Larry Ojunjobi and defensive end Olivier Vernon - There were so many good plays by the defensive line, but none so dominate than Ojunjobi and Vernon. Each had a sack, but Vernon’s early in the game set the tone for the defense to be able to put pressure on the Ravens fabled passing attack.Ricky Seals-Jones Photo by Scott Taetsch/Getty ImagesTight end Ricky Seals-Jones - Odell who? Antonio who? David who? Cleveland Browns’ fans - meet the newest threat in the passing game. The Ravens contest was the coming-out party for this backup tight end as he shined with 82 yards despite catching only three passes all game.On the Browns second possession, he scored a critical touchdown after delaying his route and then doing a drag across the middle. Probably one of the game’s biggest plays occurred with the Browns first possession in the third quarter in which Seals-Jones was hit for a 59-yard gain that set up Chubb’s touchdown on the very next play.Defense! Defense! Defense! - All game, the defense had great plays. The pass rush was consistent while the pass defense was outstanding. Four sacks, six tackles for loss, two interceptions are the statistics, but the pressure on Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was the story. DC Steve Wilks is a fine defensive mind and knows when to send an extra rusher and when to hold back and instead dot the defensive backfield with more bodies. Offensive Linemen Joel Bitinio and J.C. Tretter - Both of these men opened holes for Chubb and running back Dontrell Hilliard and basically wore down the Ravens defensive front in the second half. Three rushing touchdowns went through the hole that these two opened. Although Mayfield had some pressure at times on passing downs, not a single Ravens defensive tackle was able to get into the backfield all game. Special Teams Kick coverage- The Ravens were never able to generate any yardage off of any kickoff or punt with either KhaDarel Hodge, Tavierre Thomas, Willie Harvey or Demetrius Harris making the tackle.Joe SchobertPhoto by Todd Olszewski/Getty ImagesMiddle linebacker Joe Schobert - Schobert is quietly having another Pro Bowl year. He had 17 total tackles against Baltimore with a sack, two tackles for loss and forced a fumble. He reads the run extremely well. One would assume that his game would have suffered with the temporary loss of his partner Christian Kirksey https://www.brownsfanshop.com/Terrance-Mitchell-Jersey , but instead he has elevated his awareness on the field and is simply a “field roamer.” FrowniesRushing Defense - The Ravens on several drives popped off numerous seven and eight yard clips especially on first down. Before kickoff, they were the league’s number one rushing team. Before Ravens running back Mark Ingram’s third quarter fumble, the Ravens ripped off runs of nine, nine, eight, and four yards mainly into the center or just off left guard. All game long the Browns did not have an answer for this. The drive in which Ingram fumbled could have changed the outcome of the game with how much yardage the Ravens were getting on the ground.Cornerback T.J. Carrie- Carrie was often out of position on several passing downs that could have cost the Browns dearly. With the Browns leading 7-0 in the opening stanza, Miles Boykins had found an opening in the center of the end zone between Carrie and Demarious Randall. Carrie had been guarding the left corner of the end zone where no receiver was. The 27-yard completion - then reversed - pass to Chris Moore was Carrie’s zone who was 15-yards away from the play. The fourth quarter eight-yard touchdown to tight end Mark Andrews brought the score close to 24-18. Schobert guarded the tight end close to the line and then let him go deep. Carrie remained in the short zone and never took over the route as Andrews scored easily.Running game First half - Whatever the coaches adjusted at intermission worked because the first half was a bust with the rushing attack. A whooping 30 yards on the ground was gained in the first half with 10 gained on one play. A total of three running plays resulted in negative yardage. After halftime, the Browns ended the game with 193 yards rushing and four rushing touchdowns, but the first half was a joke.Penalties Again - This week, an article was written here on DBN by the talentedRufio on how to fix the Browns offense doldrums. One of his “fixes” was to stop the stupid penalties. That did not happen against the Ravens with illegal shifts, personal fouls and numerous false starts. Cleveland is the league’s most penalized club and this week just added to their ranking. Milk Bones - Not steak, but tastyQuarterback Baker Mayfield - The biggest change to Mayfield’s game this week was his ability to remain in the pocket and go through his progressions Jarvis Landry Jersey , be patient and not panic. Time and time again, this worked. The interception he threw in the second quarter was a terrible pass and killed a drive that ended in Ravens territory. The end result was 342 passing yards and he was only sacked once. His offensive line for most of the game was keeping defenders to the outskirts of the pocket and this game Mayfield did not help them by running out to meet them. Devaroe Lawrence Photo by Scott Taetsch/Getty ImagesDefensive tackle Devaroe Lawrence - One of the blessings with this club is that they are able to use six defensive linemen all game. Lawrence has proven his worth and each game has been given more snaps. He may not have gotten a sack, but was the one pushing Ravens guard Bradley Bozeman backwards the plays he was in there. On his interception, he tipped the ball and then found the floating ball and hauled it in like the defensive back he dreams he could have been. Offensive tackle Greg Robinson - One of the successes in the second half in the rushing attack was because of Robinson’s blocking and opening holes. Chubb’s 24-yards cutback scamper in the third quarter was because Robinson had pushed defensive end Chris Wormley into the center of the field to which Bitonio took him. Next, Robinson went to the second level and eliminated Ravens linebacker Patrick Onwuasor who had position on an angle. On the Browns next possession, it was the side of Robinson, Bitonio and backup tackle Justin McCray who provided the opening for Chubb’s two-yard touchdown. One of the unsung plays of the game was on Chubb’s 88-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter which basically sealed the game. Robinson had come from his left tackle spot and hit linebacker Kenny Young on the second level. Young had been in perfect position to make the tackle before Robinson engaged. Kicker Austin Seibert - After one of the preseason games, Browns head coach Freddie Kitchens complained that he just needed someone to kick the ball between the yellow poles. Has Seibert missed a kick this year? Any kick?
their running game going on Sunday Oren Burks Jersey , something will have gone horribly wrong. The Packers will get their best chance all season for a big day on the ground in week ten, when they face the Carolina Panthers. That is because the Panthers, despite their 5-3 record, have one of the poorest run defenses in the NFL, if not the very worst.Yes, the Panthers are even worse defending the run than the Packers, who have given up 149 yards or more in five of nine games this season. Carolina has just three such games in 2019, but they have a lower ranking in multiple measures of overall efficiency against the run. The Packers rank 25th in the NFL by allowing 4.7 yards per carry, but the Panthers are 31st at 5.1. Green Bay sits 26th in rushing DVOA, while Carolina ranks dead last. That alone should tempt head coach Matt LaFleur to lean on the running game on Sunday, but the differential between the Panthers’ run and pass defense should make this even more tempting. As I noted two weeks ago, the Panthers (like the Chiefs, whom the Packers defeated in week 8) had an excellent pass defense contrasted against a terrible run D. That has not changed in the past two weeks, with Carolina giving up 353 rushing yards combined in their last two games while their pass defense DVOA remains in third place across the league. And although the Panthers have an MVP candidate in running back Christian McCaffrey, SB Nation blog Field Gulls points out that the run defense somewhat mitigates his success running the football this year:An analytically-minded Packers fan who may point out that passing still typically has a higher net yards-per-play average than rushing. But in the case of the Panthers, those numbers are particularly close; compared against a 5.1 yards-per-carry average, a pass defense that gives up 5.4 net yards per pass attempt mitigates that argument significantly.Of course, the Packers feature Aaron Rodgers at quarterback, so one would expect him to perform better against an elite pass defense than an average quarterback. However, when the Packers do throw the football on Sunday, it will behoove them to use play-action much more than they have recently. According to Football Outsiders Marquez Valdes-Scantling Jersey , the Panthers are allowing 2.2 yards per play more when opposing offenses throw off play-action compared to the average without using a play-fake. That is the tenth-highest difference in the NFL. But for some reason, Carolina’s opponents have used play-action on just 16 percent of pass plays, the lowest rate that any defense has faced this season.Against the Chargers last week, Matt LaFleur admitted that the Packers got out of their game plan and that he probably moved away from the run too soon. Getting behind in down-and-distance situations was a big reason why the team could not sustain a rushing attack and did not use much play-action. Indeed, LaFleur called just ten rushing attempts for his running backs and, according to Pro Football Focus, the Packers ran a play-fake on just three out of 35 pass attempts. That combined to give the team its worst offensive performance on the season, a game that saw them generate more than half of their season-low 13 first downs in the fourth quarter while down by a three-possession margin. That ratio must be much higher on Sunday, and the total rushing attempts for Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams must increase significantly as well. If they do not, it will be another sign that the game got away from the Packers or that Matt LaFleur gave up on his game plan early once again. The message may have grown stale, but the man still held the respect of his players in the locker room. That is the story of Mike McCarthy, whom the Green Bay Packers fired on Sunday night following an abysmal loss to the Arizona Cardinals.Monday was the media’s first chance to touch base with the players, most of whom found out about McCarthy’s firing like everyone else — through Twitter or television reports. That’s even how Aaron Rodgers heard about it, as he explained. The timeline is understandable, as is the inability for McCarthy to address his team after learning the news himself. The Packers lost their noon game at home, prompting team president Mark Murphy and general manager Brian Gutekunst to meet to discuss the move before informing McCarthy of their decision. By that time, most of the players would have already left the facility for their homes. News broke quickly after the move, meaning there was little or no opportunity to call the team back in for a meeting. It’s tough to see a coach fired, especially one who has been in Green Bay for 13 years. Rodgers is the only player still around from the last time a Packers coach got the axe, and while a few of the other veterans have seen coaches dismissed at their other stops, it’s still a shock — particularly before the end of the season.Packers players react: 'Lot of respect' for dismissed Mike McCarthy | Packersnews.comThe beat writers gathered quotes from six Packers Jimmy Graham Color Rush Jersey , five of whom have been with the team for at least five years, to get their feelings about how McCarthy was let go and their feelings towards him as a person.Aaron Rodgers, Mike McCarthy ‘accomplished a lot together’ | Packers.comThose are Rodgers' words as he discussed McCarthy's firing on Monday afternoon at his locker. another chance to extend his NFL career.Just two days after being released by the New England Patriots Eric Ebron Jersey , the Indianapolis Colts have signed the 33-year-old longtime backup to be their No. 2 quarterback, the Colts announced Monday. ESPN reported it was a three-year deal worth $12 million.Hoyer takes over the No. 2 spot from Jacoby Brissett, who became the starter when Andrew Luck abruptly retired Aug. 24.The only other quarterbacks on the roster are Phillip Walker, who is on the practice squad, and Chad Kelly, who will miss the first two games while serving a league suspension.“We’re working through it. We want to get the right guy for us and we know there are some possibilities out there,” Colts general manager Chris Ballard said Sunday. “But we’re working through it and we’ll have him in the building here soon.”Brissett, a third-round pick in 2016, also spent one season in New England before Indy acquired him in a trade on cutdown weekend in 2017 but the two ex-Pats never were teammates.Hoyer originally made New England’s roster as an undrafted rookie out of Michigan State in 2009.In his first three seasons with the Patriots behind Tom Brady, he played in 13 games but never started. In 2012 Matt Slauson Color Rush Jersey , the Pittsburgh Steelers signed Hoyer after their top two quarterbacks got hurt and he finished the season with Arizona, which claimed Hoyer off waivers in December.Hoyer got his most extensive experience with Cleveland in 2013 and 2014, where he went 10-6 as the starter. The next two seasons, in Houston and Chicago, Hoyer was 5-4 and 1-4 as the starter before going 0-6 with San Francisco in 2017. The 49ers released Hoyer after acquiring Jimmy Garoppolo in a trade with New England. That opened the door for Hoyer’s return to New England, where he spent the rest of the 2017 season and all of last season. The Patriots released Hoyer on Saturday, allowing the Colts to bring him to town Sunday and sign him Monday. Officials ruled a fumble into the end zone, which Nick Chubb recovered in the end zone.By rule, on a fourth down fumble, the only offensive player who can advance the ball is the player who lost possession. The Browns challenged the ruling on the field Rashaad Penny Color Rush Jersey , but the play stood.Since the Seahawks had 12 men on the field, the Browns got another chance from the 1 and Nick Chubb was dropped for a loss. The Browns, though, did use the short field to score a touchdown on their next possession.Of course, officials could say the Browns were pretty bad today with four turnovers. We noted last weekend that there’s been talk around the NFL of the Seahawks trading defensive end Frank Clark. That talk seems to be getting louder as the draft approaches.Multiple reports in recent days have said a Clark trade is possible. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that the Bills and Jets are interested in acquiring Clark. Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that the Seahawks will demand “at least a first0round pick.”Getting a first-round pick would be a tall order. Clark is probably looking for something in the neighborhood of the five-year Doug Baldwin Color Rush Jersey , $90 million contract defensive end Trey Flowers got from the Lions. A team giving up a first-round pick and paying Clark that kind of money would have to absolutely love him as a player.Seahawks G.M. John Schneider has spoken recently about how he likes making draft trades. The Seahawks have just four picks in this year’s draft, and the right package of picks might be enough to make them part ways with Clark.
